the ying and yang of my children.

My daughter took the PSAT at the start of the year , got her scores back yesterday and scored in the 98th percentile nationally. She has a composite score that makes her eligible to be a National Merit Scholarship whatever in the state of Ohio - except they don't allow sophomores to qualify for it.

Her getting the scores back 2 days after my son finds out he was denied admission to the college his friends are going to hit him kinda hard. We hung out together last night watching the game and cracking jokes and I decided it was time have a celebration to honor him becoming an Eagle Scout - so we're going to have a group dinner at the end of the month with some of his friends and parents. I'm not sure I was all that motivated to do it until these two events happened.

I'm taking everyone to Buca Di Beppo. My family loves that place.
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

And she'll grow up to be an environmental scientist, doing fulfilling work but frustrated that people "just don't get it" about how [insert some corporate malfeasance anecdote] is impacting the everyday man and your son will be some regional management executive with an annoying golf habit.

For some reason I just got an image of your face when your boy was talking to you about some classmate having anal sex and you saying "Um, OK, let's go get a burger"...

Sad...and all too typical, actually.

I somehow can't get to that article. If it's about the 73 year old dad shooting his 14 year old then yes, that's horrible. My first reaction was why have a kid at 60?

Viagara and a weak pull-out game.

Yes, it is the same story.

Oh yeah he is fantastic. My personal favorite is his real electric guitar.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

took the boy on a college visit yesterday

He could graduate college and never leave our house by taking everything online.

That ain't college.

College is eating peanut butter and ramen noodles for 10 days straight because you blew your rent money at a strip club, college is walking around with a stiff neck because you and a girl got shitfaced, fucked in her dorm room and slept on a lumpy ass twin bed, college is going to a club that sells domestic beer by the pitcher and listening to really bad cover band of The Doors, College is taking a philosophy class and justifying it to trip on acid (or whatever kids these days take), College is selling your textbooks 2 weeks before finals to payoff the money you still owe from Spring Break, College is laughing at your friend getting crabs from the girl that hangs out in the quad lounge...and scared you might have them because you sniffed her underwear in the laundry room when no one was there.

Taking classes on your couch on a goddamned Chromebook ain't college

"College is taking a philosophy class and justifying it to trip on acid"

Or justifying majoring in philosophy b/c you spend most of your time tripping on acid (ahem)...

that boy is going to miss out on life - next thing he knows he'll be 30 years old and doing the same thing for the next 40 years.

even has a cute little thing an ass so tight you can bounce a quarter off it at Cracker Barrel talking him up and won't mess with her because he's is talking to some girl that is stringing him along at school.

I can't talk no sense into that boy sometimes.
