He's an old WX poster who only posts in the NBA occasionally.

A lot at Detroit Pistons Forum...the rest scattered around the universe with many using Facebook (which I don't do) and others just using text amongst each other. We're all six degrees away, but not all at one degree any more.

I saw one of these parked outside my gym a few weeks ago. I like it...

It apparently got the highest rating of the Natl Transportation Hwy Safety Board ever...5 stars in all categories. Part of that is easy to believe considering it is electric, so it does not have some humongous gas tank to set ablaze, but it's still impressive visually and safety wise. I think the price is close to $75K, though.

they said because it doesn't have a motor in the front, the traditional car design makes the front end act as a huge crumple zone.

I don't see myself ever buying an electric car until they have a 300 mile range. But I can see us driving cars powered by natural gas - and char broiling some awesome steaks at the same time.

Tesla is actually putting up it's own charging stations on the road for it's owners.

ROAD TRIPS MADE EASY
Charge in minutes, for free

Tesla Superchargers allow Model S owners to travel for free between cities along well-traveled highways in North America. Superchargers provide half a charge in about 20 minutes and are strategically placed to allow owners to drive from station to station with minimal stops.

Coverage
Today – 18 stations
Summer 2013 – 27 stations
Fall 2013 – Most metropolitan areas
Winter 2013 – Coast-to-coast travel
2014 – 80% of the US population and parts of Canada
2015 – 98% of the US population and parts of Canada

Superchargers are located near amenities like roadside diners, cafes, and shopping centers. Road trippers can stop for a quick meal and have their Model S charged when they’re done.
My Dad is my hero still.

No. Not a hybrid. Estimated to go 265 miles per charge.

$72,000 (before taxes and fees). Has to be ordered because Tesla will not allow dealers to sell. Other car companies are pushing proposals that all cars will need to be sold at a dealership (proposal in Texas right now)

Someone wants an exception to the franchise laws. If we made an exception for everybody that showed up in the legislature, before long the integrity of the entire franchise system is in peril
Thank goodness, I'm glad they did something to prevent that horror.

There must be some big dealership heads in the Texas legislature. It's the way business and government is done there. Also, no thing would surprise me about anything coming from a NC legislature nowadays.

Ummm..it is electric. Uses no gas. Dealership heads ain't got nothing to do with it.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Good point...although dealership heads still have an interest in keeping Tesla out. Your point stands on Big Oil, though.

The NC legislature went through the same shit, but I think they moved on because Sharia law, restricting a woman's right to choose, disenfranchising voters and fucking the state and its people are too important to worry about fucking only a few thousand folks.
