If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it, then how bad of a decision can it really be?

That Mustang just made my dick move a little.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

did you watch that 60 minutes special about China building entire cities that are empty? They have a mall that is twice the size of the mall of America and it is empty except for the food court.

My cousin is in law enforcement, he went to Dubai for some training conference (he was teaching), he said the wealth was unbelievable. Also that there is very little crime, although (or maybe because?) they have one of the largest police "forces" per capita in the world. They basically give out law "enforcement" jobs to anyone who wants one. Said one of his guides told him that if he left his wallet laying on the sidewalk he could come back the next day and it would still be sitting there, that the idea of somebody taking something that didn't belong to them was virtually unfathomable...

Nope, I missed it but I will try to see if I can catch it online. I don't know too much about the markets in "The Kingdom" but China is 1890 America, right now. So, they are trying to stay ahead of the inevitable upcoming migration of those agrarian Chinese into cities. I think those things may be a cause in the overheating of their real estate market, though. They are definitely ahead on the supply side.

As a random aside, China is now a net importer of clean energy tech from America...

Dubai is tough water to navigate for ex-Pats, at times. There is a tenuous relationship with the Western influence rubbing against the Islamic sensibilities of the area. I'm interested to see how it plays out over the next 10 years as it continues to build out.

It may have been Bahrain. At any rate, he was hosted by the head of law enforcement over there, he said they treated him like a celebrity...

I have no desire to vacation/live somewhere I cant drink/smoke, gamble, see pretty women in bathing suits/watch porn or some combination of the above. Dubai is hot right now because it's new and unique, but once that wears off they are going to have to relax the rule to keep western money flowing in.
