Re: Minnesota TimberWolves

I think from Minny's standpoint it was getting Miller's shorter deal and a 1st round pick, while getting Flynn the hell off the team.

Re: Minnesota TimberWolves

We need a real SG. We have about 30 SFs on the roster.

Re: Toronto Raptors - We can't be pathetic forever, can we?

If he would have played last year at a big US college, he would've easily been in consideration for the #1 pick.

This kid is everything that Bargnanni isn't.

He is. His only problems on defense are he needs to get stronger (but he's got the frame to add weight) and he's so aggressive, he fouls too much.

Great pick.

Re: Toronto Raptors - We can't be pathetic forever, can we?

Dude is a monster. Rebounder, shotblocker, very physical player. A bit raw on offense (but shot 92% from the line, so he has skills).

Has a chance to become a dominant 2-way center.

Buyout may keep him in Europe for one year.

I'm concerned that if they're willing to give up Bogut, that there are serious worries that his arm will never be right.

Like I said, he just said the discussion happened. Not that it came close or was imminent.

But I trust his source on Wolves rumors more than LA writers. Dude has broken two trades and a signing to me before rumor #1 hit the waves.

Re: The Arrogant, Entitltled World Champion Los Angeles Lake

Here is what my guy (with Wolves FO connections) said: I will tell you that the Gasol/Shannon Brown for Beasley/#20 was very actively discussed and we are not going to give up the #2 to take on a older superstar with a massive contract. It would involve the #2 going to Cleveland for Varejao and #4, ...

Re: The Arrogant, Entitltled World Champion Los Angeles Lake

Rumor: Pau Gasol to Minnesota for KLove, lottery pick and fillers. Comment? That one started with Chad Ford saying that Gasol was the type of player Minny might target with the 2nd pick. Then someone on LA radio turned it into Love plus #2 for Gasol. That ain't happening. Some sportswriter in Minne...

Its not my favorite trade offer out there either (and there appear to be a ton of them involving the #2 pick). I'm not a big DeRozan fan.

Re: Toronto Raptors - We can't be pathetic forever, can we?

I said this in another other thread, but this is a great hire. Casey is incredibly classy, smart and ultra prepared. Stresses defense and works well with young kids. Dude got Mark Blount to play hard, rebound and play defense. He got absolutely hosed by Garnett and Ricky Davis in Minny. Torpedoed. I...
