Looks around, sees no posts in over 2.5 years...dang. There has been an entire miserable coaching tenure that began and ended since the last post.
Guess we'll see if Freeze can do anything with his second chance.

Re: Auburn Tigers
It would have been fitting if Pat and Johnny Majors had died on the same day...one last tie for old times' sake.

Re: Auburn Tigers
Well, about 90 minutes to execution...I mean, kickoff...last time I was this underwhelmed for an Iron Bowl was 2012. Hopefully there isn't a 49-0 asswhipping in the offing.
Truck got stolen Thanksgiving morning...pfft.
War Eagle, anyway.
Congrats, you grimy pachyderms.

Dumpster.
Fire.
Congrats, Vols...y'all deserved it.
Time to go buy a couple of lottery tickets. If it hits, I'll make a contribution to the Gustav Buyout Fund.

Re: Auburn Tigers
Well, the offensive line is still offensive.
Gonna be a long November.
This year is the 10th anniversary of the scintillating 3-2 victory over MSU in Starkville. I see something similar in the offing this week.

Re: Auburn Tigers
I'm thinking 8-4 top end at this point. Our November is going to be "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"-like. We never beat A&M in Auburn @ Georgia @ Alabama Auburn's (Tuberville's, really) ownership of Bryant-Denny expired when Saban arrived, and we haven't won in Athens since 2005. The ...

Re: Auburn Tigers
Well, that sucked.
Couldn't put them away and gave up way too many long yardage conversions. Deserved to lose...turnovers, bad snap on FG, adds up to a bad loss.
Dammit Gustav.

Re: Auburn Tigers
Well, that was a good gut-check win...not a damned thing pretty about it, and lots of coaching points the next few weeks.
Going for two early in the game was stupid...won't be the last "Dammit Gustav" moment I will have this season.
War Eagle.

Re: Auburn Tigers
Gule, you damn near hit it...Germany scored in the 13th minute. Dachshunds everywhere rejoiced, and then tried to occupy every French poodle in sight.
Hope you reprobates, ne'er-do-wells and other varmints had a great 4th of July weekend.

Re: Auburn Tigers
Heheh...I also went to the 63-21 A&M curbstomping of Auburn in '12, so I guess I should be good to go this fall, if form holds.
It's definitely been weird having the two of them be in the same conference, something I never imagined 20+ years ago when I moved to Texas.

Re: Auburn Tigers
No worries...I'm not going to have that much time to get out and about, as this is mostly a working trip. I'll try to drop by more often. My last post on this thread before today was at the end of the mind-numbingly terrible 2012 season. What a difference a year (and a coach) made. I was depressed f...

Looks like a lot of the same crew is holding down the fort. Anybody have any first-hand recommendations on places to eat in downtown KC? I'm going to be there for a week starting tomorrow.

Re: Houston Rockets - Hizzy's Hizouse
Always thought it was ironic that the Rockets drafted a guy who is afraid to fly. The big man group that is available this off-season is kind of sketchy...the best ones that are UFAs are Howard, Bynum, Jefferson, Millsap and Josh Smith. Jefferson probably has the best combination of reliability and ...

Re: Auburn Tigers
You know your coaching was terrible when you would gladly take a head football coach from any and/or all of Vanderbilt, Duke and Northwestern over what was already there.
I doubt all three of those schools have ever been bowl eligible in the same year.

Re: Auburn Tigers
A couple of futility statistics... * The 2012 Auburn offense was held scoreless in 24 of the 48 quarters of football they played in during regulation. * During the 1988 season the Auburn defense gave up a grand total of 92 points in 12 games. The 2012 defense allowed 96 points in the first quarter o...

Re: Auburn Tigers
Well, that went about like I expected...if Alabama hadn't had the SECCG to play next week, it might have been 84-0. I honestly can't remember if we crossed midfield or not...well, crossed it while in possession of the football, at least.
3-9, first 9-loss season since 1950.

Re: Auburn Tigers
The gall is definitely still there...5 cents to hedge for taking advantage of the hanging curveball. A loss would set a record for most conference losses in a season. We were 1-7 in 1998, with the only win being over a Tuberville coached Ole Miss. We did go winless in the SEC in 1980 at 0-6. That se...
