That's not as disturbing as the revelation of Greg Maddux's locker room hi-jinks.

Marlon Brando reading cue cards taped to Robert Duvall
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

saw Ready Player One tonight
Ton of 80's references so I liked that, ton of video game references so my son liked it.
Its one of those movies you can watch 3 times and still not get everything in it.

Re: UCLA Bruins
Anyone watching Wild Wild Country on Netflix?
I was in high school when this went on and I don't remember it at all. Its worth watching. I'm on episode 3 so far and I'm kinda mixed. One the one hand I want to side with the cult , but at the same time I'd hate to have them living next door to me.

Re: UCLA Bruins
no team in the tourney, weather is still too cold to do much outside
Wife is out of town so I was stuck doing domestic stuff all weekend so while I did things like fold clothes and clean the house I finished up the Wild Wild Country series. Now I'm about to finish up another series called Flint Town about the Flint Police during the water crisis. The water crisis really isn't the focal point other than just a reference point in time.
in 1980, Flint Michigan families had an average income of $51,000
The national average was $45,000
in 2018 , Flint Michigan families have an average income of $57,000
The national average is $73,000
Flint has a home vacancy rate of 8% which is the highest in the nation and a rental vacancy rate of 23%, again, highest.
Because of such a high number of homes that are condemned, the fire department doesn't do a whole lot to stop a condemned structure from burning.
The Flint police force has 98 officers patrolling a city of over 100,000 people. A typical police force would be about 300. The average wait time for a 911 call is 2.5 hours.
At any given time there is a backlog of 50 or so calls for police assistance with as few as 4 cars on patrol. Because the fleet of cars is in such bad shape, they often have to send officers out on foot patrol.
All that makes for a pretty good TV series. They were so strapped for cash I assume they welcomed the Netflix series to come in.
During the series a couple of things happened - they sold all the confiscated guns to generate income, and when a millage was approved to continue paying taxes, the city council denied the police a pay increase and instead actually took more money away from the police than they had before the tax was renewed.
The Sonitrol corporation purchased them a dog but they had to name it Sonitrol.
During the series they bring in a new police chief who makes the decision to take police off the regular beat and create a unit that essentially harasses criminals - the result is they shut down a liquor store where violence keeps happening, and as a result Flint drops out of the top 25 most dangerous cities, then a judge and the ACLU forces them to open it back up and a few months later Flint is back in the top 10. The series doesn't really make that correlation but I think its implied.
There are only 8 episodes and the last episode kind of leaves you feeling empty about anything actually being substantive during the series but maybe that was the point.
