Nobody cares about the Big 10-11-12-13-14. When was the last time they mattered in the end?

The B1G was last relevant around the same time Tennessee was. Long fucking time ago.

Observation from Planet Reality: Maryland is a truly awful football program with, frankly, the ugliest uniforms / packaging in memory. Doubtless the Big 10 will "strongly encourage" them to implement serious fashion upgrades. But here's the meat of it: polls, gladhanding, poll-fed biased RPIs and everying else the politicos use to arrange "bowl games" ... sadly ... Maryland is going to lower the competence / attractiveness of the Big10, except maybe hoops. I can't blame Maryland wanting to escape the overall mediocrity of the ACC. - but they need to make serious strides upward - especially on the football field....which I believe they can and hope they do. But man, this crap I see on the field vs Marshall ain't gonna cut it anymore and neither are the confusing array of eyesore helmets and rags they put on week after week.

They ought to dump Randy Edsall but probably can't afford to do so

The Terps will compete with Purdon't and Indiana to fill out the bottom tier of the Big '10', and be looking up at the Minnesotas and Illinois' of the league.

Heard this on Sirus XM 91 college sports radio this morning....
If Michigan State loses to Oregon, the B1G-T14N is OUT of the playoffs
A very brash statement, denigrate the whole conference like that before the 2nd week of football?

In some ways, you are the Big10 of these forums...

Okay that's it.

With Ohio State and Michigan State both losing, I think its pretty obvious for at least ONE of the big-5 conferences that will NOT be represented in this year's college football playoff. Whether or not two conferences will not be represented is as of yet, undetermined.

Saw this on ESPN.com:

"1-10: Big Ten teams' record against Power 5 conference foes after going 0-for-5 on Saturday"

after week 3, only two B1G teams are left unbeaten.

I'm the only one left. The other Big10 fans (including Talent) all went over to the Michigan forum

I went, and that place seems to glad hand like-minded fans and welcome them into the giant Maize-colored echo chamber. It's a little bee hive of conspiracy theories with an anti-FSU and anti-SEC tilt. At least it was in a few of the threads I back read in. They also want Hoke fired, apparently.

I made a couple of posts, but shan't take up residence.

I do remember and like many of the people there, though. And at least one I despise. A young man who after being beaten down in several debates at Wxing apparently googled my name and my home address, and sent me a message that he was "telling my boss" and "the AHA" that I post at Wxing. Which is funny, pathetic, and scary* all rolled into one.

(* I had no "boss"- and the AHA is either The American Heart Association or The American Hospital Association - neither of which are regulatory bodies; I am a member of both, Regional Faculty with one, and a member-at-large in the other, but they have no oversight into my work or my life, let alone what I post. I assume he got that info from LinkedIn and ran with it.)

Oh, and DSL, I did post about you there. I think I was very complimentary.
