Don't want the Huskerz winning the league title right away...
But it was probably also done to create as many attractive tv games as possible over the next 2 years as the contracts will be up soon

Just thought I would mention that I watched the 1998 Orange Bowl at least three times over the past weekend. It never gets old watching Ahman Green run for 200 yards and Payton Manning run for his life while the Huskers run up and down the field..
