I didn't see Wake Forest-BC, but somehow, I think I saw that game last year. I feel your pain, BC fans.

BC is wasting the most perfect defensive unit they have ever had. What a waste.

BC currently at #3 defensively in the S&P rankings (opponent adjusted advanced stats).

Clemson at #10 offensively so something's gonna give tomorrow (hopefully defense > offense).

ESPN's headline does recognize the better defense on the field Saturday...

"Louisville's defense stifles Boston College 17-14"

Wins: Maine, Howard, NIU

Losses: FSU, Duke, Wake, Clemson, Louisville

So much for defense

What's so hard to understand, especially for a fucking Gator fan?

Elite defense, horrible offense. Was 4-8 so long ago that you've forgotten it?

By the way, S&P and FEI are opponent-adjusted, meaning that if you perform well against a good offense you get much more of a bump than performing well against a poor offense. So yes, their wins have come against bad teams (except NIU, they're above average) but even in their losses, their defense has performed quite well. I was wrong about BC - they've turned out to be much better defensively than I thought. And while I think Clemson and maybe UF have a better overall defense due to better athletes at almost every position, BC schemes very well, tackles well, and rarely gets caught out of position.

IB's prediction continues to play out strong, as BC has the #1 defense in NCAA total defense statistics (#3 in FEI, #2 in S&P). What is the most remarkable part of that stat is that they are getting absolutely no help from the other side of the ball, as their offense ranks DEAD LAST in NCAA total offense (3rd worst in FEI, 4th worst in S&P).

UF had a similar situation a couple of years ago but I can't remember ever seeing such a discrepancy between the two units - it's possible that it has never happened before.
