Just make sure they leave those after abortion uniforms with the ACC. Maryland = The Big 10s Vandy. Gotta keep the numbers up.

They already had a Vandy. It was named Indiana.

Who knows, maybe Maryland becomes respectable in the land of 3 yards and a cloud of dust. They have a decent defense and a shitty offense which should be good enough for 8-4 in the B1G.

The NonConference

James Madison (6-6)
@ South Florida (2-10)
West Virginia (4-8)
@ Syracuse (7-6)

Is Maryland good enough to sweep these games? They're playing two, arguably three, major opponents, all of whom are on about the same level as they are right now. This will be a good test for them.

Grade: B+

One team with a winning record and a B+? Just as I thought.

ACC and Maryland settle for $31 Million, the money already withheld from them. Won't be paying the full $52 M exit fee the ACC wanted.

Maryland wanted to pay (and thought they would pay) $0 and the ACC wanted the whole $52 mil. So.... $31 mil..... meh.... that's fair.

We'll call this a win-win. And now its over so its a win-win-win.

Maryland couldn't have expected to pay nothing. Every school that's switched conferences over the past 5 years has paid something to their old conference. Even Rutgers paid $11M

You are probably right. I'm sure Maryland didn't actually expect that the ACC would be truly ENFORCING their parting-shot-penalty (that was designed specifically to keep FSU and Clemson from joining the SEC.) The fact that they did sends a message to all the other schools, YES, you WILL pay. They probably figured they would have to pay something (certainly not $31,000,000.)

I wish Maryland (and also Rutgers for that matter) the best. Hopefully their new conference home will be a better fit than the ACC. We'll see.

You're a BC fan, why are you acting like you're some veteran expert on the ACC?

I love the press release from Maryland announcing Edsall will be on the sidelines for Saturday's game.

so I guess they plan on firing him when the plane returns, a la Kiffin at USC.

(then again, they didn't confirm he would be standing on the sidelines as the head coach for Saturday's game)
