Question for all the people with ex-spouses...
If there are no children involved, do ex-spouses even have to keep in touch? My guess would be no.

People across the street are funny.
They are married, (his second marriage, her second marriage.) His daughter from his first marriage lives with them. Her son and her daughter from her first marriage lives with them. Because both of them have children from their first marriages, they each must keep in touch with their ex-spouses.
So one day, both ex-spouses happened to be over the house at the same time. The two them get talking. Whatever, just to be social. Next thing everyone know, his ex-wife and her ex-husband, they are engaged to each other. So his ex-wife asks his current wife if she wouldn't mind being her matron of honor. She said yes. Her ex-husband asks her current husband if he wouldn't mind being her ex-husband's best man. He says yes.

I think that thing with the ex-spouses marrying each other, it just worked out that way. There used to be an 80s situation comedy on television where that was part of the plot.

my ex came over for easter supper tonight...his girlfriend had to work...usually she comes over too...

I can't believe how much money my wife has spent in 7 days. Holy shit, it's more than what I made my first year out of college. It doesn't rise to the level of qualifying her for "ex" territory, but looking at the online statement just now was a gut punch that forced me to vent...and this was the apropos place.
Holy shit, I want a drink right now...at 11:35am.
