Which means 8 ACC bowl teams at most, if NC State beats Merryland.

If, somehow, the inconsistent Pack meets a 'gave up a long time ago' Twerp squad and the Fighting Edsalls win?
7 bowl teams.

Sorry, but that's Miami math. And there are more people there than I thought there would be.

It's clear that the Marlins had a home game at the same time.

NCAA sends former Miami players an ultimatum: speak to us or will will take your silence as an admission of guilt. WOW!

fuck the NCAA. if Miami has any sense they'll point to the NCAA's handling of U*NC' and say give us the same treatment or see us in court.

How about the Auburn treatment? 24 hours later and it's "nothing to see here folks, move on".

I actually feel sorry for Miami, and that alone makes me hate the NCAA more than ever.

Correct. They are the corrupt, out-of-control judge who makes you root for the criminal.

The NCAA is expected to notify Missouri coach Frank Haith of allegations of "unethical conduct and failure to promote an atmosphere of compliance" stemming from his time as coach at Miami, according to a report by CBSSports.com.

NCAA seems like it's taking forever just to serve Miami with notice of allegations. But if they go hard after Haith they can't be in good shape.

FWIW posters on packpride kept talking about the time the NCAA was taking to move on the U*NC scandal saying "they're taking 10 months to issue a NOA so they have to be laying the boom!! yee hah!!" and U*NC got a stern glance and finger wag out of the deal so don't use time frame as any kind of indication of severity of punishment.

The latest is that the NCAA may have botched the case so badly that they'll have to drop it. They may have paid Shapiro's attorney to depose witnesses strictly for the purpose of getting evidence against Miami and having nothing to do with the criminal case.

I know it's shocking that the NCAA exhibited incompetence.

I guess he didn't take up that position until Valvano was fired.

Actually I was very unhappy with the way V was running the program towards the end. Personal fouls was obviously a railroad job but it was equally obvious no one was minding the store. At the least V should have had the team prepared for the visit by 20/20 and pretended like they were going to class. I have no problem with the NCAA's investigation and punishment of NCSU regarding Valvano. The aftermath I have a huge problem with. All I've ever asked from U*NC in this is the same thing they insisted NC State get. A truely independent investigation and a fair decision from teh NCAA. What we got was a whitewash by one of Thorps buddies and a blind eye from Emmert.
