Guess I shouldn't have expected rickert to be gracious in defeat. I guess after 7 straight years it gets difficult...

UNC is losing over 98% of its offensive production, its only decent defensive lineman and the core of its starting offensive line (pre injury OL). The 2017 Tar Heels might be so bad that they lose to UVA.

Fedora and company are about to be exposed, and they will be forced out by this time 2019. There was no excuse for this team not winning ten games, even with the injuries.

I support the Heels and Gamecocks, in that order. I have degrees from both schools. You support Cinci and Florida, and you didn't attend either.

September 2 - California (Their defense was worse than UNC's defense. Cal will have new coaches, new schemes and a cross country trip. I like UNC's chances as of right now)

September 9th - Louisville (Louisville loses some key pieces on defense, but their offense should be clicking. This one will be over by halftime.)

Sept 16th - @ Old Dominon (This will be a close win. UNC will be just that damn bad.)

Sept 23rd - Dook (Toss up. As of right now, I am penciling this in for a loss, but the team may have a chip on its shoulder from last year.)

Sept 30th - @ Georgia Tech (There is no way UNC beats GT and the triple option four years in a row.)

Oct 7th - Notre Dame (They went 4-8, but they did have some talent on that team. They will win.)

Oct 14th - Virginia (Mendenhall and company will snap the streak at 7...I don't see UNC winning this one....UVa will improve with his coaching)

Oct 21st - @ Virginia Tech (VT may be losing a lot on offense, but they still ahve far more talent and superior coaching. This will be an ugly loss.)

Oct 28th - Miami (This loss will look like something Miami would have done in the glory days. Richt's boys will be firing on all cylinders.)

Nov. 4th - Open (A respite from losing!)

Nov. 9th - @ Pitt (Eh. They lose their qb and Conner, but I don't see how UNC's shit offense and shit defense will stop anyone. UNC will lose.)

Nov. 18th - Western Carolina (A win!)

Nov. 25th - @ State (Bourbon...lots of bourbon...we'll need it to watch this game in person...We will also need rain jackets and rubber boots to deal with the piss running down the stands and the bottles of urine being thrown from the student section.)

3-9/4-8

We're beyond being in trouble, gentlemen. We're fucked and fucked right good.

Report: Mike Ekeler Joining UNC Football Staff
Staff Report
10:09 AM

The addition of a new football assistant coach seems to answer the uncertain status of Gene Chizik.

Larry Fedora is adding Mike Ekeler to North Carolina's coaching staff, according to FootballScoop.

Ekeler, currently the defensive coordinator at North Texas, will take on a co-defensive coordinator role, per the report.

UNC has been awaiting a decision from Gene Chizik about whether he'll remain in Chapel Hill and this news would support the notion that Chizik has made his decision to exit the program.

The 2016 season was Ekeler's first at North Texas (under former UNC offensive coordinator Seth Littrell). Prior to North Texas, Ekeler coached linebackers at Georgia, Southern Cal, Indiana and Nebraska.

During his three-year stint at Nebraska, Ekeler coached alongside John Papuchis who is now on UNC's defensive staff. Papuchis would be the obvious candidate to share co-defensive coordinator duties as he was a defensive coordinator for three seasons at Nebraska.

Chizik has been UNC's defensive coordinator for the last two seasons, including the 2015 campaign where his unit was the nation’s most improved Power 5 defense in points allowed per game.

Ekeler becomes the third offseason staff hire by Fedora, joining defensive backs coach Terry Joseph and defensive line coach Deke Adams.

He accomplished more in three years of college basketball than UVa has accomplished in over a century of college basketball: he won a national title.

It's hard to argue with this one, I must say. That was quite an accomplishment.
