good to see Bron has added flopping to his repertoire

van gundy sez Heat go 58-8 this year, the equivalent of 72 games in a regular season

they'll be good, but 58 wins aint gonna happen

I think they could do that in a shortened season.... they have a ton of talent that can take advantage of the shortened pre-season and multiple games in multiple nights. All depends on health.... but I still wouldn't call them better than that Bulls team even if they do it. It's harder to do over a longer period of time imo. Boredom sets in quicker.

What they have going for them is that they and OKC are the two teams with the least amount of changes that occurred during the offseason. Because of that, they should fall into a groove quicker than other teams with new coaches and/or new contributing players. I think they could make it to 55/58 wins.

I'm guessing there wasn't too much deliberation prior to this decision :
Mavericks players voted not to give Lamar Odom a playoff share.

Dallas players received $281,937 for finishing with the seventh-best record in the Western Conference and participating in the first round of the playoffs. Split evenly, that means each player is set to receive $20,138.

"If the Lamar thing would have worked out and if he would have played like the year before when he was the best sixth man, I think we would have had a shot,'' forward Dirk Nowitzki, reffering to the Mavs' chances of advancing in the playoffs. "It would have given us another playmaker, another guy that’s long, that can defend and rebound.

"But for whatever reason the stuff he was going through off the court was just too much. He couldn’t help us the way he wanted, the way we wanted, and we had to move on without him.''

A story over $14k stiffed towards an NBA player is funny.

Dallas is doing the damn thing. They are signing OJ Mayo. So, they have Darren Collison, Mayo, Kaman, Brand and Dahntay Jones (not that big of an acquisition, but I hadn't typed "and" yet, so I had to choose another name). That's a reload for your ass. They've quietly retooled quite nicely since losing out on Deron and Dwight (for now).

I agree it's a good retooling but that team will suck defensively. Reminds me of the Mavs mentality before they got chandler. I don't think you can take them seriously except that they probably aren't lottery bound next year.
