I cannot wait to score a victory against the University of Alabama. Vengeance at last for the 1986 Kickoff Classic

This needs to be changed to UAB. They do not go by Alabama-Birmingham.

Well AA, you son of a bitch, you got your wish. UAB shutting the program down

it has suffered from lack of success and inadequate funding under the watch of the University of Alabama Board of Trustees.

In 2006, for instance, the school tried to hire current Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher (then an LSU assistant) until the contract was nixed at the last minute.

The University of Alabama trustees didn't want to give the program any money? They refused to allow UAB to hire Jimbo Fisher? AA is a Bama Trustee?

UAB football should have been shut down years ago. You can't give the tix away.

And you've worked tirelessly to make sure it gets shut down, telling anyone in Birmingham that would listen that they shouldn't spend a dime to support the program. Then you'd rattle a tin can and ask for a contribution to UAT instead.

Shameful. A total and complete betrayal of your Alma Mater. The angels weep.

Independent study concludes that UAB football was, in fact, making money for the university. Hard to understand then why Bear Bryant Jr. demanded the program be destroyed

UAB football was NOT making money and Paul Jr had nothing to do with it being shuttered.

Maybe that's the difficulty DSL is having in understanding it...

Independent researchers confirmed football was a moneymaker for UAB

So why has AA worked tirelessly to get the program shut down? Why has he railed against his alma mater? Why has he also lashed out at Troy and UAH-'s hockey program, with a rage normally reserved for when the Glenfiddich bottle runs dry?

Regarding that last part, I'd say his priorities are in order...

Any firm that looks at a $20mm net list per year and concludes is a "money maker" is not to be taken seriously.
