I can see Johnson's approach. Tenny had not stopped them for < 3 yds in what seemed like an hour, and if they went first in the next overtime round they'd be forced to go for 2 then so might as well go when they wanted to rather than when they had to. It was a good play with the emergency dump off that could have worked. After watching Tenny's D against the triple option, I wonder if huckleberry can install the Wishbone or Veer in the next 2 weeks?

I thought Butch should have gone for 2 the first overtime. That seemed to me to be the only chance for a win.

I think that would have been the smart play. Hell Jones and company had all summer to plan for this game. GT's qb should have been popped every play but we layed off him.
I weep at the thought of what GT is going to do to UNC's defense this year. UNC has won three straight (including coming back from a 21 point deficit in 2015), and PJ despises UNC (because UNC refused to give him an interview in 2007). September 30 will be a blood bath.

There's always basketball season.

Tech blew several chances in that game. Two missed field goals, a holding penalty that stalled a promising drive, a fumble on an otherwise TD run... Tech had the game in hand but just couldn't put the Vols away.

600+ yds of offence on 90+ plays and still lose? Must have been divine intervention.

He was being tackled at the 23 yd line...ball knocked out rolled to the 8. Not a TD run, but everything else you said was correct.

If GT's QB stays healthy imo they're going to give the ACC fits.

That Tech QB was impressive. And he's gotta study at least one year of calculus and a hard science.

Flaws? Where?!?!? I can see the Vols at 15-0, with a CFP Championship... FIRST TIME EVAH!!

The Vols dodged a bullet against Tech, but took a dagger to the heart in that game.

Yep. This series is running like TWLOCP in the Vince Dooley era. One team appears to have everything in place to win, then the other finds a way to yank it back. Good luck the rest of the way.
