E, did Kroger rehab their site in OTR or shut it down?

I think its still there but I remember they were closing it down for a new store. It wasn't a popular move.

interesting tidbit I didn't know about California

34% Of the nation’s welfare recipients live in California but only

12% of the U.S. population resides here.

Well, the federal government collects about twice as much revenue from California as the next highest state and over 10 times as much as it does from Kentucky, so I guess you could say they earned it...

"at the expense of who?"

At the expense of themselves, evidently. As a state, California is adding more than 10 times more revenue to the federal coffers than Kentucky does, so it seems only fair that they should get more back. In other words, the citizens of Kentucky (or any of the poorer states) who are getting any type of federal aid owe much more to the people of California than the citizens of California who receive federal aid owe to the people of Kentucky (et alia)...

I'm not sure that your focus is on point here

regardless of how much they produce - as in terms of taxing their wealthiest citizens, they apparently have the most impoverished by a large margin.

The issue isn't how much they give back in comparison to any state, the issue why does a state with 12% of the population generate 34% of the welfare.

however in your tax analogy, just think of the burden on the working class in California to pay those obligations.

it would appear that middle class folks are being squeezed out of the state in the process
--------------------------------------------------
A dive into Internal Revenue Service data shows the largest group of outmigrants tends to be middle-aged people making between $100,000 and $200,000 annually. They may not be ideal algorithm creators for Facebook, but they do constitute the solid middle ranks critical to any healthy economy.

Indeed, since 2010, the Golden State has seen an overall net outflow of $36 billion from these migrants (and that counts only the first year of income). The biggest gainers from this exchange are where Californians are moving, to such places as Texas, Arizona and Nevada. That some California employers are joining them in the same places should be something of a two-minute warning for state officials.

The world has gone totally batshit insane. Are you fucking kidding me with this Trump health stuff?

Can you imagine the whiny-ass outrage if pundits were out there calling Oprah fat as a political gotcha if she was running/elected for President?

With the nation rocked by this Russian conspiracy to meddle with Trump’s height, and its threat to our precious Democracy, the only logical things to do are to:

1. Take the doctor’s medical license for his role in the plot, and
2. Impeach Trump immediately.

When I went to get my last physical, the doctor had a little circular hand operated calculator where you turned one circle to your height and then another one to your weight and then outside both of those it showed where you were on the obesity scale. According to that I was dangerously close to obese, which is absurd. Yes, I could stand to lose a few pounds, but I'm not close to obese...
