Attitudes about things can and do change. There are a lot of young people who are growing up in a country where mass shootings are becoming routine. Maybe they decide that this is insane and have a different view on the utility of having a heavily armed country and they'll grow up as people less likely to want a gun. Encourage people to give up their guns via a buyback and then make replacing that gun harder (not impossible at first but just harder). Now, you could have a place where guns are less common and, therefore, gun violence will be less common and a changing attitude about the need for guns. Give this a generation or two and our grandchildren or great-grandchildren will look back at this era as a terrible and disgusting part of our history (as they should).

I think its a mixed bag.

This is a generation who grew up on Call of Duty and Battlefield.

We had the worst mass shooting in our history just a little over a month ago and no one is talking about it. Other than the victims its largely forgotten.

We have a congress that is considering a nationwide reciprocal CCW allowing people with a CCW for example in Alabama to carry a gun in New York and vice versa.

The issue that should concern you the most is while you think America needs gun control, Americans in general do not want gun control. Yes, you can point to some vaguely worded poll where they ask should anyone be able to guy a gun without a check and construe that as a cry for gun control but the reality is Americans want to be able to buy guns and will continue to want to 50 years from now - and they don't want to be told what they can or cannot buy -as in assault rifles

a person would have to have something like the anarchists cookbook to know that stuff

pm me

kidding aside , in 2009 at the knob creek machine gun shoot they had a guy selling chemicals for the sole purpose of bomb making. He was selling the anarchist cookbook on CD. I watched him from a distance but I wouldn't dare go up to his booth because I'm sure he was under surveillance. I heard him saying this was the last time they would let him sell there because he was bringing too much attention to the event.

I wish I thought to video tape it, but like I said, I was nervous to even get near him.

Here is the video I did take that day

Guns are basically toys for adults. And we know how most people get when you try to take away their toys....

Hey eCat, remember: this is the first week of the month, so on Wednesday night we will be having our monthly meeting of "The Great White Straight European Christian Male Secret Conspiracy to Keep Black People Down (TGWSECMSCTKBPD)." It will be the usual time and place. Don't forget - it's your turn to bring the cookies. Hail Pepe the Frog!

ABC’s bombshell, yesterday, had to be stepped back a bit. Just a small discrepancy.

I read last night they got Flynn for lying about meeting Russians in December, after the election.

Not exactly the Russians fixing the election the media had hoped it would be.

That's all he was charged with not necessarily all he did. He is cooperating which implies that he cut a deal for a smaller charge. And, his son has not been charged even though he was in the crosshairs which may also be a sign of a deal.

Special Counsel isn't limited to finding an election fix. Ken Starr got an impeachment on WJC based on a blowjob, not Whitewater.

Like Cletus says, they could have charged Flynn with more, plus they have his son dead to rights. Firing Comey because he wouldn't give Flynn a pass already guarantees an obstruction charge...probably insignificant compared to what's coming.
