clearly

I would be confident if my team had just lost to a freshmen oriented team in mid December on a neutral court too

I'm sure Jackson will go for 35 again while you guys shut down Monk

That performance eclipsed Prince's back in 2002 or whenever it was. That loss would've been easier to swallow if we had just gone ahead and lost by 7 or 8 and never had come back to take the lead at the end, I felt pretty good when we got up by 3 with under a minute left, but then the Monk kid kept making 3's. Obviously that was one of the best games UK has ever played and definitely one of the greatest individual performances by a UK player (if not the greatest ever), kinda hard to be too disappointed to lose by 3 against a performance like that, but it still stung. That might be the greatest performance that kid ever puts up in his career, if it's not, he's going to be great. Would love to play UK again in the tourny, revenge is a great motivator and just playing the odds I'd say the Monk kid won't put up 47 (or whatever he scored) on us again. Great win for UK...

fun game to watch if you didn't give a shit

elsewhere we are 10-1 with the 1 being a 1 point loss at Maryland

I think we make some noise in the big 12

we didn't have an answer for Jackson. I wouldn't want to face UNC again, but that said, this UK team should be noticeably better by then. That loss to UCLA was a good thing for this team. We wouldn't have won this game without it.

Yeah, I say Monk won't come close to that kind of performance if we play again, but I doubt we'll get that same kind of performance out of Jackson, either, and he scored 13 less points than Monk to start with. I was again pleased with our frosh center's performance in a limited role, I'm counting on him also being better if we play again, and of course Pinson should be back by then, he's our best perimeter defender by far and at 6'6" I hope he might could keep Monk under 30 at least. Anyway, I expect both teams will improve as the season progresses, a rematch in the FF or finals would get some national interest I would think...

That game was the second time ever that Carolina has scored 100 or more and lost. The other time was a triple OT loss to Wake in 2003 which I unfortunately witnessed firsthand...

Cal is the best coach at UK that we've had in my lifetime. I'm not down on Pitino, but Cal knows how to get those kids up for games. He knew that UNC was a nationally televised game that had alot of interest beyond just the hard core fanbase. More often than not Cal wins the games he supposed to win and a handful of games he isn't. Tubby would never win the marquee matchup games unless he overmatched the opposing team - and even under Pitino we were never the Duke/UNC beaters.

I'm gonna hate to see him hang it up.

In Duke's game last night, Allen goes in for a layup and falls down, get the foul. The only problem was he wasn't touched.

As in the defender didn't try to go after the ball or even foul, he stepped back and gave him the layup - and still gets called for the foul.

A UNC columnist made some comment about Cal going to a post game press conference wearing jeans so today he went to a press conference wearing a white T-shirt and jogging pants with a towel over his shoulder.

well I hope everyone has a great holidays wherever they are. I'm about to make the annual slog down to the in-laws for a few days. The only bright spot for me will be the morning run to Sugar Rush donuts. Best donuts I've ever had.

Gayson Allen is the consummate flopper. A true POS Dookie. He may be the worst/best flopper of them all. Worse, what does that video say about the ref that called that foul on Tenn St.?

More evidence, the russians have hacked college basketball.
