Much like Fulmer, who also should have been allowed to go out on his own terms.

Before anyone starts solidifying opinions in the heat of the moment following what was, admittedly, a sickening season-ending performance, watch this video...

...and also take a moment to recall some of the sickening performances we had during the last few seasons of Fulmer's tenure.

There are a couple of negative articles about Dooley and the UT situation that have come out the last couple of days.

http://tonybasilio.com/index.php?page=tony - "What I’ve been granted an insider’s glance to is a program that is wrought with dissension. I’m talking player against player, coach against coach and player against training staff."

http://www.mrsec.com/2011/11/turmoil-at ... -leak-out/ - "After the loss to Kentucky, more than one outgoing UT senior claimed that some members of the Vol squad care more about their stats than the team. They suggested that not everyone wanted to play this past Saturday." - "To make matters worse, Dooley himself helped to create an air of negativity by spending a heckuva lot of time in the press ripping his players."

He seems like a good guy, an above average recruiter, and possibly a good coach. I can see how Kiffen would attract the wrong kind of athlete, the opposite of what Dooley would, so it might take a couple of years to right the ship.

Dooley's shower lessons were probably almost as destructive to his football program as Sandusky's shower lessons were to his.

There's been a lot of talk about problems with certain members of the team and personality conflicts. The seniors were obviously frustrated with the way the team played against Kentucky. But truthfully, some of the players who played like they didn't want to be there were the seniors. One of them was Tauren Poole, who looked that way for most of the season, frankly.

Dooley is definitely going to get another season to turn things around. Some of the problems that are being blamed on personalities are probably things that will magically improve with another great recruiting class or two. I wouldn't put too much stock in some of the details in the Basilio piece, since, from what I can tell, he is not considered credible by a lot of Vol fans.

Dark times lead to lots of rumor and speculation. It will be interesting to see what changes are ahead.

Basilio waits too see what position Jimmy Hyams is taking and then goes the opposite direction.

We got almost nothing out of Fulmer's last 2 recruiting classes and Kiffin's 1. Next year's senior class will look as bad as this one. If people are disappointed that Dooley isn't a miracle worker, then so be it.

That said...if we don't beat the gaytors next September, I'm done with him. heh

The Baggetts live next door to my niece and her husband (on Fox Den CC hole #12). We walked in their den Thanksgiving afternoon and met Da'rick, Cam Clear, Milton and some others.

And, now, apparently, according to some sources, reportedly....

Da'rick is suspended indefinitely. As the story I read stated, I guess if we have no WRs left, we really don't need a coach, do we??

I have the very distinct feeling this program is going to be headed much, much lower before (if?) it recovers.

Oh well. GO VOLS!

I don't understand why we don't have a rb coach?

Gran made all the difference in the world in the running game. Watching video of him coaching was gold.

If you want a culprit on running game I start with that decision, then OL coach, then OL play, the rb play

My question is do you have a quality special teams coach?

If so, especially if he can coach kickers, Alabama would like to hire him away.

U*NC is the cleanest most honest athletic program on the planet. I am jealous of their deserved success, and I'm a mewling cunt.
