Re: Florida Gators
I really think it would have been a totally different game if Hunter hadn't been hurt. No way to know for sure, of course. But, as seems normally to be the case when we play the Gators, the worst things that can happen usually do.SuperGator wrote:I didn't realize he was so important because our secondary sucks so bad. However, we still made your QB look like the second coming of Peyton.
I wonder if having J. Reed playing tonight would have helped our passing game. Needless to say we give up too much in penalties and we are going to pay for it in the future.

Re: Florida Gators
Per usual, this opponent and this time of year I'll take a W any way we can get it.
The same weaknesses are still there - the OLine is weak on run blocking, the secondary makes 2 bonehead plays for each good play it makes. Liked the offensive play calling that started the game, then wondered what happened to it later. Note to Charlie, the draw play to Demps doesn't work, quit calling it.
I'm good with Brantley, and Sturgis is going to win us a game we would otherwise lose at some point this year. The DLine put some pressure on most when it mattered, and if the ref's are going to drop PI flags like they're getting commissions for each one, these DBs need some serious coaching. On to Kentucky.

Congrats. Our front seven is way young and thin. Our OL has potential, ain't there yet.
I can't believe our best fucking player blows out his damn knee on the first drive.

Agreed.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Re: Florida Gators
Watching the Sunshine Network replay - Gators have gone cheap - using the radio audio of Mick and company instead of a separate TV crew for the commentary. blech.

Re: Florida Gators
After watching the replay - if that is what is going to get flagged for pass interference this year, we'd better be ready to score over 30 every game.

Re: Florida Gators
Nah GBJs, they were consistent. What was PI in the 1stQ was still PI in the 4thQ and Tenny got flagged for a 'hand-check' too. Our DB's need to get rid of the dropsies more than putting the their gloves on jerseys. The only call I had issue with was the fumble - thought his knee was down and the whistle was late. Thankfully it was not pivotal.

Re: Florida Gators
Perhaps not surprisingly, I didn't think his knee was down. But more importantly, I didn't think the replay showed enough to be able to tell for sure. Certainly not conclusive.
I thought the PI call against Austin Johnson in the 2nd quarter was a bad call. And I thought 2 of the PI called against the Gators were bad calls.
Overall, I was irritated at the numerous stops to review plays and how long they seemed to take -- especially when the replay didn't look so hard to decipher.
