No STALIN (not Hitler and not Trump) was scorched earth. STALIN burned everything and left nothing for the Germans (who were advancing) to loot and pillage.

It's not an arbitrary 10%, it's the richest 10%...

Once again IB can’t respond to a word I wrote and goes off on an unrelated diatribe. This is everybody’s crazy uncle combined.

I corrected you. The Nazi's socialized (Nationalized) privatized companies in Germany. That is socialism.

If the "socialists" are one of the first groups the Nazis got rid of (I don't even know what that means exactly, did they send "socialists" to concentration camps???????) that is only because the Nazis wanted to socialize things themselves. You are going to have to get into the details as to what "getting rid of" means exactly.

No it isn’t. It’s a command economy or state capitalism, or something in between. Where the hell did you go to school?

A public school teacher is socialism. A public health care system is socialism. A federal military is socialism.

In the United States, our "Post Office" is socialism. In England they socialized the railroads. But any industry that COULD be private (education, healthcare, transportation, mail, etc) but becomes government organization, that is socialism. Let me ask you a question that they asked Bernie Sanders (that he never answered) what is the difference between a democrat and a democratic socialist???? Be specific. Bernie couldn't answer that (couldn't say what the difference is) because well, he's old, and his brain is gonzo. But that is okay, AOC is young and I don't think she can answer it either. But she can pour me a beer. Maybe we should "socialize" the bars?

You see tree, I like to get into the weeds. I like to get into the specifics. Where I was educated is none of your business.

A command economy, well that is the government producing everything (absolutely everything) and then letting the people buy that because they have no choice. Now we are heading towards communism. We had that in the Soviet Union which meant everyone starved equally. The shelves were "empty" in a "command economy." Socialism doesn't always mean nothing, but resources are scarcer and rationed.

You didn't answer ANY of my questions. I answered yours. You didn't answer even one of mine.

I am not surprised.

I assume that is Thomas Massie,

Good guy really - MIT grad, powers his house with a Tesla car battery - he designed and installed the system himself including finding a salvage Tesla.

I don't know if he is true Libertarian but he makes Rand Paul look like a moderate. He has stood on an island alone against congress more than once.

I wouldn't have advised him to make that picture, not sure of his motivations why either, but I continue to believe he is better than most of the people in D.C.

hanging out on that hunting forum, the guys that aren't vaccinated call themselves "purebloods" now

JFC.

I have no problem with someone who has made a decision to not get vaccinated. But to get to this level of thinking is messed up as if they are now physically superior to others, like 10 years from now they'll be the only ones left aliive.

I can understand why leftists are going absolutely bonkers right now. They are supposed to be the ones in control of everything (politically.) And I give it a coin-flip that Roe-vs-Wade will be overturned with the way the Supreme Court is currently constituted. And that has them going batfuck crazy right now.

ACB has said that she doesn't understand why anyone would argue on the merits of abortion because having an unwanted child brings unfair financial burdens upon the mother. She doesn't understand it because putting the child up for adoption is free and relieves the mother of ALL financial responsibility, the financial responsibility that she and her husband have undertaken as adoptive parents. The left went ape shit with ACB. Because....
  • abortion keeps women from having to go through pregnancy
  • abortion keeps women from having to go through childbirth
  • and abortion keeps women from thinking all their life about the fact that there is a “child out in the world” that she gave up
That thinking is feminism 101. That is why feminism is cancer.

https://www.nationalreview.com/the-tues ... -abortion/
Kevin Williamson wrote:To believe the story the abortion-rights advocates tell you, you have to believe in magic.

There’s no magic required on the pro-life side.

That’s the real source of our long disagreement.

In its most basic version, the pro-life position is easy to understand, requiring no special intellectual training, no religious commitment, no mysticism, and nothing you’d really even call a philosophy. What we believe is that you don’t kill children who haven’t been born for the same reason you don’t kill children who have been born. That’s it. There isn’t some magical event that happens at some point during the pregnancy that transforms the unborn child from a meaningless lump of cells to a meaningful lump of cells. Modern, literate people don’t need the medieval doctrines of “quickening” or “ensoulment” (or some half-assed, modern, secular repackaging of those ancient superstitions) to know that the unborn child is an unborn child — we have biology, genetics, and, for those who need to see with their own eyes, imaging technology for that. The human organism that you hold in your arms six months after birth is the same organism it was six months before birth. It isn’t a different organism — it is only a little older. It is true that the child six months after conception isn’t fully developed — and neither is a 19-year-old. We have a natural, predictable, reasonably well-understood process of individual development. There is no magic moment, no mystical transformation, and the people who tell you that there is are peddling superstition and pseudoscience.
(regarding adoption)
Spiers’s argument is that we should permit putting children to death in order to spare their mothers from any moral or emotional discomfort associated with relinquishing those children for adoption. This is stupendously childish (if you will forgive the word) way of looking at the world. Killing people in order to prevent their suffering and to relieve ourselves of any lingering feeling of discomfort regarding our moral duty toward them puts human beings on the moral level of ailing pets. You could make precisely the same argument for euthanizing the poor or the disabled (as some share of abortion advocates have done since the beginning of the euthanasia movement), which is why the superstition of the “magic moment” is so rhetorically and politically important for the pro-abortion set.

Without the magic thinking, we would have to think about the thing straight on. Stripped of the superstition and the rhetorical human shields, Spiers’s argument is that we should allow children to be put to death because, if they are born and adopted, then their mothers will experience regret, whereas if they are exterminated, we can all pretend that nothing ever really happened. There is no abortion-rights regime without that kind of brutality.
Perhaps rat would say that both Kevin Williamson (who was adopted) and Justice Amy Coney Barrett are seriously fucked up too?
