Trump is crying about a CNN poll.

No it's not. It's normal. Plus, mine is true.

This must be what it was like in Moscow in February 1917, Paris on April, 1789, Beijing in September 1949, Havana in December, 1959, and Rome in July 410.

I heard a discussion about police unions this morning and I can get behind some of the point they were making.

Police Unions hamstring government officials into negotiating policies that prevent transparency and protect the employment of policemen who are problematic. While I wouldn't be for disbanding police unions, I would be for limiting their negotiating rights to salary, benefits, and general seniority related perks while eliminating any ability to influence policy on dealing with the public (with the exception of prioritizing safety of police officers), dismissal for due cause and general public interactions. That defeats a democratically elected official, such as the mayor who then hires the police chief, from enacting the will of his constituents.

Limiting unions in this regard, without the purpose of reducing salaries or headcount I believe would be generally acceptable to the public at large.

That would then open the doors to having a legitimate discussion about prioritizing police response to the public about when and where police are needed.

All that said, returning the balance of power into the hands of a political progressive doesn't translate into better policing or a more harmonious community. You have to have a measure of what is an acceptable public response, and you must enforce the boundaries of what that is in real time. If the community at large cannot trust to you restore order without malice but expediently, then they will have no faith in your ability to provide a viable future for them as a business, resident and taxpayer.

I'm not a Nascar guy but I was flipping channels last night and saw a race at Martinsdale on TV so I tuned in

the stands were empty, it was a very strange thing to watch.

I think NASCAR is in trouble. If they think banning confederate flags will bring more people to the sport, they are wrong.

I think it's an excellent move by NASCAR. They wave the final version of the Confederate flag anyways on the final lap.

So when Trump loses will he go out with dignity (BAHAHAHA! ) like all other Presidents or will he throw his normal childish tantrum and lock himself in the bunker? It would sorta be fun to watch him being escorted out kicking and screaming though.

A cop tells his perspective....

There used to be a common respect among criminals. If they got caught, they understood you had a job to do but now it’s our fault they sit in handcuffs rather than their own personal decisions.

If someone attacked a cop, they were seen as such. Now we martyr them and sue for millions.

We used to be able to testify in court and we were believed. Now, unless there is video from three different angles, no one cares what you have to say.

With all this talk about racism and racist cops, I’ve never seen people treated differently because of their race. And while I know that cowards that have never done this job will call me racist for saying it, all I’ve ever seen was criminal behavior and cops trying to stop it and they didn’t give a rip what their skin color was.

I’ve seen cops help and save any type of race, gender or ethnicity you can think of and while that used to mean something, no one cares anymore.

I’ve been called every name you can think of and many of them with racial overtones and it’s never come from cops. I’ve watched African American cops take the brunt of this and even talked one rookie out of quitting after he was berated by a lot of cowards that had the same skin color as him.

I’ve heard words I never heard before being a cop.

Uncle Tom, Cracker, Pig and the N Word just to name a few. I’ve heard them thousands of times and never once did I see a police officer retaliate.

They just took it.

Despite that, it’s been the greatest opportunity of my life to do this job. I would have recommended it to anyone and I secretly hoped one of my kids would do it one day.

They would have been a 4th Generation Cop.

But today, all of that is over. I wouldn’t wish this job on my worst enemy. I would never send anyone I cared about into the hell that this profession has become.

It’s the only job you can do everything right and lose everything.

It’s the only job where the same citizens you risk your life for hate you for it.

It’s the only segment left in society where it’s cool to discriminate and judge, just because of the uniform you wear.

You never get to explain.

You can never reason with them.

The nasty words have now turned into rocks and bottles and gunfire.

I’ve watched it happen to those around me and I have seen the total destruction of their life.

This job is a walking time bomb and you could get cancelled or prosecuted on the very next call, even if you do everything right.

No profession has to deal with that.

Doctors kill 250,000 people a year. They call them “medical mistakes” because society understands that they do a very difficult job under high stress and they must make the best possible decision in the moment.

Law enforcement is tasked with the same and we are highly successful. Despite the most violent society we have ever seen, less than 1,000 suspects are killed a year.
96% are attacking us with weapons and all but a few others are attacking us with their cars or their fists and more and more with simulated guns so Benjamin Crump (an American civil rights attorney) can help their family win the lottery.

I’ve seen cops risk their own lives when they shouldn’t have… just to keep from taking one.

They never get the credit that other professions get.

Cowards are all around us. From chiefs to sheriffs to politicians, no one has our back.

Now, the little we have, we are told they are going to defund us or even abolish us. Citizens with a political agenda will reign over us and all you have to do is wake up and put on a uniform to be a racist.

This weekend I received death threats for just doing my job. It would have been outrageous a decade ago and made national news.

Now, it’s just a Monday.

There will be more threats, more accusations of racism and more lies told about us.

I used to talk cops out of leaving the job. Now I’m encouraging them.

It’s over America. You finally did it.

You aren’t going to have to abolish the police, we won’t be around for it.

G.O.P. Platform, Rolled Over From 2016, Condemns the ‘Current President’

The party’s 2020 platform includes more than three dozen unflattering references to those in power at the White House, after the Republican National Committee chose not to change its language from four years ago.

WASHINGTON — When Republicans read the platform their party is using for the 2020 campaign, they may be surprised to see that it is full of condemnations of the sitting president.

“The survival of the internet as we know it is at risk,” the platform reads. “Its gravest peril originates in the White House, the current occupant of which has launched a campaign, both at home and internationally, to subjugate it to agents of government.”

The warning about speech online is one of more than three dozen unflattering references to either the “current president,” “current chief executive,” “current administration,” people “currently in control” of policy, or the “current occupant” of the White House that appear in the Republican platform. Adopted at the party’s 2016 convention, it has been carried over through 2024 after the executive committee of the Republican National Committee on Wednesday chose not to adopt a new platform for 2020.

The platform censures the “current” president — who in 2016 was, of course, Barack Obama — and his administration for, among other things, imposing “a social and cultural revolution,” causing a “huge increase in the national debt” and damaging relationships with international partners.

Ecat your post is total bullshit. Judges today still always take the cops word over the defendant. The common respect went out the window when cops started beating the fuck out of defendants well after they already had their hand up. That's fucking ridiculous. Maybe, just maybe if the cops stopped beating people for jaywalking on a silent country road or maybe if they actually filed a truthful police report we wouldn't be here today. The cop you quoted is a flat out lying pussy. Completely. God fucking damn you have no clue.

Anton Hill, model student, outgoing, headed to Kansas to play football. Shot and killed night in Liberty as a bystander watching an argument over stolen property.

Hill is the second shot in Liberty in as many days

Black Lives Matter

I could post 100, 200, 300 of these type of stories before we hear about another policeman shooting an unarmed black man

Little cutesy graphs that divide this by 1000 and raise the sum of that to the power of pi times 5 aside, BLM are mostly protesting blacks being beat down and killed in inner cities, which is basically an epidemic that no one but them talk about.
