Welcome Justin Thomas....finally, a choice of two speedy QBs(RS Vad Lee), should help the O....now just get some DLs and LBs.

I'll say it again....

Paul Johnson was positioning Georgia Tech to be the toughest out in the league / the path to the ACC title each year....

and then he hired Al Groh as his defensive coordinator.

That set GT back the 3-4 years it takes to get Groh replaced.

Prevent D lost the game in the end. Oh, Groh....

The whole "prevent defense prevents you from winning" cliche is one of the most overused arguments in football discussion, but in this case it's actually true. The coverage call on the 4th and 4 play on VT's last drive was one of the dumbest calls I've ever seen. There's no way Corey Fuller(God bless him-- he was the only VT receiver that had a good game) ought to have been open by five yards on that play. Logan Thomas could have thrown that to Fuller underhanded and still gotten it there. Georgia Tech's corners had played really well for the most part, too, and VT's receivers, aside from one play, weren't beating man coverage. Why Groh didn't trust his secondary to make that play is beyond me.

You can't understand the ways of the Groh because you play checkers while he plays chess.

worst decision Paul Johnson ever made was bringing AG on as his d-coordinator.

Cliche's become cliches for a reason.

I can't see it working out for GT. Maryland is a logical fit but GT is too small to afford paying for all the secondary sports to travel across the Northeast. Rutgers is a bit puzzling as well - I suspect that the desired TV market acquisition would work about as well as BC has for the ACC.

Unlike BC, Rutgers has a shitload of alumni. The trick is getting them to give a shit about Rutgers athletics.

You'll see Tech in the Big(fill in the blank) when Nancy Pelosi makes a coherent statement...too many natural rivalries close to home.
