Reporter: "What does it mean to fight through adversity before the SECCG?"
Saban: "I don't know what it means."

Love you, Nick.

No way Ohio State stays number 1. 2 quarters of good football out of the last 8 doesn't justify it no matter how the rest of the day turns out.

Still #1 in the coaches poll. Alabama might've moved to #1 if they had won. Ole Miss wasn't going to jump from 11 to 1. Of the other teams around the Top 5:

#3 TCU looked shaky in giving up 37 to SMU. And didn't look good against a Minnesota team that looks worse week by week.
#4 Michigan State would've beaten OSU yesterday but pollsters don't appear ready to call them the best team in the Big10 yet
#5 Baylor didn't play this week and their two wins are against SMU and Lamar.
#6 FSU: Wasn't impressive against BC and weren't impressive against South Florida last week
#7 USC: Lost to a Stanford team that Northwestern beat.
#8 Georgia: Three straight lousy teams. "Maybe" you can make a case of them being ahead of OSU but vaulting them to #1 ahead of all the other schools?
#9 Clemson: Barely escaped an 0-3 Louisville team and I doubt anyone thinks this is the best team in the country

Sparty probably has the best case. Or maybe, God help me, Notre Dame. But with all their injuries they are eventually going to lose some games.

#1, #2 and #3 all have looked like crap.

Michigan State and Ole Miss are the most 'accomplished' teams so far, regardless of the laundry they wear.

I would agree. Maybe put LSU in that conversation as well.
