How can you forget Risky Business? That opened the door. The outsiders only gave him a name.

Took the Fambly to $6 night at the movies to watch Jumanji.

Much better movie than I expected.

I recall some post years ago about somebody nibbling a found Sour Jack on the floor of a movie theater, but I can't recall the context. I think it had something to do with the ending of Terminator 2...

funny you mention that

whenever we go as a fambly, we get a large popcorn. My wife and daughter peck at it and about half way thru the movie they hand it to me and I eat a few handfuls.

This time around, about the 3rd fistful I shoved into my mouth, there was a rubber band in it that I chewed on. Not sure how a rubber band makes it into the popcorn but that ended me eating popcorn for the night.

you'll lose your appetite pretty quick when you're chewing on popcorn and then you feel a rubber band in your mouth

I remember sitting on the front row of a packed theater for Star Wars with a bunch of kids from my little league baseball team. The theater had ushers (or I should say 1 usher) who was like an adult to us but the reality was he was probably a 17 year old kid

He must have been a fan because he told us to shut up about 5 times during the movie.

The theater was one of 2 at the time that were old ornate art deco movie houses with a balcony. The balcony had long been shut down as it had a reputation for drugs and sex.

Never bring beer bottles into a theater. They make a lot of noise when they roll. And I hope that wasn't a rubber band from some kids braces.

That happened to me when I went to see the Hangover with my friends. We had the girls bring the beer in their big purses. I was already ripped when we got there. We were on the back row. I tried to put the beer bottle on the floor, and it tipped over. It rolled all of the way to the front of the theater.

The first LA to Vegas episode is pretty funny. McDermott should be playing Archer, but this character is pretty close.

I remember Hedge and I going to the porno theatre downtown when we were 16. It's now a restored performing arts center named for some dead beloved arts matron but in the early 80s it was triple X porno house 2 blocks from the courthouse on the main drag. It was my first time seeing Ron Jeremy. Midway through one movie, scenes from another movie were randomly spliced in. I don't remember there being very many people in the theater when we got there but as we furtively skulked out, I took a look around and it was 1/3 full, including a dumpy, elderly lady who looked like she was wearing a Salvation Army uniform.

I didn't get any popcorn

as a kid we had a porn theater in town - advertised their movies in the paper and everything.

Also had a nightclub with live sex acts - not regularly but often enough and those were advertised in the paper. I remember one had something to do with Adam and Eve.

Damn, we just left people alone back in the late 70's. Today people would lose their shit over something like that - have to picket and go on twitter and make a video on youtube.

We also had a place called the beltline arcade which was an adult store with quarter fed booths where you watched a porn for a few minutes on this arcade looking machine. We did that a few times as teens until our parents went by and saw our car parked out front.

I never had any desire to sit thru a porn with a bunch of strangers. That's uncomfortable

I saw "Darkest Hour" last night. Loved it; very worthwhile.
