Have you guys heard about this Fyre Festival?

From what I can gather JaRule and another guy are heavily vested in this management company that decided to put on a "luxury" festival on a private island in the Bahamas, where they advertised luxury villas, private charters, gourmet food, on site medical staff, etc., while they enjoyed a laundry list of musical performers.

Attendees paid anywhere from $500 to well into the thousands for tickets/access to the event

when they got there they had FEMA tents on the beach that weren't secured, no medical staff (or any staff whatsoever) and a meal was provided in a styrofoam container that was a cheese sandwich with lettuce and tomato on the side (as a salad? )

I'm not hitting all the bad stuff - everything that went wrong did so now they are being hit with a $100m class action lawsuit

If you're gonna scam somebody, pick somebody more vulnerable than super rich people. Yeah, they got the money, but they also got enough to come after your ass.

I had heard about the Fyre Festival controversy/trolling, but I didn't know that JaRule actually collected anything from it.

Col. Bruce Hampton obit:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/02/arts ... .html?_r=1
The Hampton Grease Band released an album on Columbia — Mr. Hampton liked to claim that it was one of the worst-selling albums in the label’s history — and opened for the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers Band and other nationally known acts. It was also known for its twisted sense of humor, which included playing practical jokes.

The band once opened a concert for Three Dog Night by playing its own off-kilter versions of that group’s hits, according to a report in The Times. The move elicited boos, and the Hampton Grease Band responded with a lengthy encore.

Early reports are that it is being investigated as a suicide, but that doesn't jibe with the tone of his last tweets...

Cornell's wife said that before his death he was slurring his words and told her he had taken extra Ativan.

She says she asked his security team to keep an eye on him.

There's a video on YouTube of him singing the words to Metallica's "One" while playing the music of U2's "One". It's pretty incredible.

Hey everyone. First time poster here. I used to post at CNN/SI a long time ago but I doubt any of you remember me.

As far as Chris Cornell he was an incredible singer with Soundgarden but his solo career was awful and I just found out there was a SG album put out in 2012 that was roughly on the same level as Nickelback.

Anyway, moving on. What's everyone's favorite Daft Punk song? This is mine.

CNN/SI Alum here. There are a few of us left.

RIP Greg Allman. He wasn't quite the musical savant that Duane was, but a pivotal figure nonetheless. ABB and Skynrd defined Southern rock for my generation.

Gregg was even married to Cher for a couple of weeks. They bought a giant mansion here in Atlanta, but I don't think they even had time to move into it before they divorced.
