My beagle had the same thing. When she died at 17, she was down to about 7 teeth.

Clown and a small child walking through the woods at night. The child says, "I am scared walking out here at night." The clown replies, "You think you're scared? I have to walk back alone!"

Man wins the lottery, bursts thru the door and yells to his wife "Honey, pack your bags, I just won the lottery!" Wife says "where are we going? what should I pack?" husband says "I don't care what you pack, just pack your shit and get the fuck out!!"

I told that joke one year while visiting the in-laws on what I'd say to my wife if I won the lottery. Her sisters did not see the humor in it.

I got to try Shake Shack for the first time yesterday

Had to meet with a group in Chicago

It was good, but I'm not sure what the fuss is about to the extent they have people standing in line out the door at some locations.

If you can handle the cold, Hotels around Michigan Ave in the winter are crazy cheap. I was at an Embassy Suites for $95 a night. In the summer that room will go for as high as $399.

I was there for work but I'd actually consider it for a cheap weekend getaway. I even took the blue line from O' Hare for $5. Got to sit a few seats from a guy with a pit bull.

So round trip airfare was like $200, hotel was $95 a night and transportation was $5. Granted we didn't do much touristy stuff but within maybe 8 blocks of the hotel in any direction is easily an entire weekends worth of stuff to do - bring a heavy coat, durable shoes, gloves and a hat - and you're good to go. While we were there we hit Fogo De Chao, an Italian place called Volare and I think the Original Uno.

So you rent a car to deliver a letter to Florida yet you fly to Chicago. I'm confused. Also, when you say "if you can handle the cold" do you mean that the hotels are not heated? I guess that's one way to keep prices down...

it wasn't to deliver a letter it was 6 boxes of plaques , registration forms and LCD projectors. I may have said a letter in jest, I don't remember

Normally I would drive to Chicago - to our suburbs office, but this was a money issue. Parking at the downtown hotel or surrounding garages was $50 a day. Airfare was $200.

So I'd end up turning in $400+ in travel expenses if I drove versus $238 in airfare, subway and airport parking.

I still hated that part of it though, Flying sucks for short hops. I got home after midnight last night to a car coated in ice in the airport parking lot.

I knew it wasn't a letter, I couldn't remember what it was so I just said letter. Your clarification was appreciated, though, esp. given your clearly steadfast implication that since it was 6 boxes of plaques and an LCD projector, you were entirely justified in delivering it by rent a car...

A trade group I attend got a winter deal there for their annual meeting at the Ritz in December of 2014. Temperatures barely got out of the teens those two days. I wouldn't go back to Chicago in winter ever again even if you offered it for free.

Summer, it's real nice. I stayed in the same block as the Shake Shak near the university this past June. I agree, I don't get the appeal. The burgers were pretty small.
