"I looked at my wife and said "it's on now."

I can imagine her skin crawl every time she hears that.

It's because Maye heard a STate player tell another, "You can guard him. He's not that athletic."

Another twist to Cal's recruiting woes

Kentucky skipped a Nike tournament at the start of the year - either we committed and backed out or we never agreed - either way , Nike is pissed at UK.

Given the world of recruiting that isn't good for the program.

A&M followed up a solid week of basketball by kicking the point guard we were told was a "future superstar" and "definitely would have taken us to the tournament last year if the NCAA hadnt screwed us by making him sit out a year" (good news for us now that he's gone is that he actually sucked ass, so no idea what those people were watching). Plus we suspended another guard, and of course Wilson is hurt. This fucking joke of a coach we have isnt that great at coaching basketball, but he must be a hell of a goddamned juggler to actually put a semblance of a competitive team on the court every year with all the turnover, much less a talented team.

We're gonna end up having like 5 open scholarships next year and we only signed one fucking player.

Duane Wilson's college career is over, so we got a nice little situation at guard to end the year.

Andy Kennedy doesn't have anything to worry about at the end of the year...or next

I hate this time of year. I'm rushing it a bit but you just starting getting that weather break where the occasional day of the week is 55 degree and you're tired of wearing heavy coats, then March is just around the corner and you think everything will turn green. But then you get a cold snap of nights in the teens and a snow storm or 3.

This video accurately portrays my feelings going into March and then what March does to me

all of us should be a little scared

-----------------------------
Sources tell ESPN as many as 3 dozen Division I basketball programs could face NCAA penalties once evidence of FBI probe is public. "It's not the mid-major programs who were trying to buy players to get to the top. It's the teams that are already there."

------------------------------

Bill Self will be unemployed by next season.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Capel unemployed and Duke tainted as well. At this point Coach K could put babies on pikes and walk around Roses Meat Market and not get into trouble.

Considering the level of recruits we've gotten, and more importantly, missed on, I'm not real worried...

well UK basketball is just comical now

Tonight Cal said "I don't care about our record"

that's just what fans of a $7m a year coach want to hear.

4 losses in a row? That does't happen very often. Can't really sass, though, UNC lost 3 in a row earlier this year...

Diallo seems to be the issue

Fans are screaming to Cal to stop playing this kid and have been for some time.

Last night we have a 4 point lead playing zone without Diallo in the game.

Cal puts Diallo in, we switch to man to man and Auburn goes on a 7-0 run and we never get with 4 again. Diallo was directly responsible for 3 straight trips down the floor resulting in turnovers or bad shots as soon as he went into the game.

Some believe that when Diallo comes into the game, Knox, arguably our best player just shuts it down because Diallo and SGA won't pass and don't set him up for shots. Knox went 13 minutes in the second half without taking a shot while we ran the same play over and over again - a top of the key screen between our guard and center.

Cal needs to be careful because he will go out on his own terms at UK, but if he doesn't do something about the growing narrative that he cares more about a kids NBA prospects than he does winning a game, the fans are going to get nasty. As far as I'm concerned, if he ever says it , and I don't think he will, but should he say that, its a gots to go situation.

The worst thing for Bama this Saturday was Kentucky losing last night.

What I've been saying all year long.. Ego. Cal only cares about how many HE can put in the NBA.. not how many banners UK can rasise. Glad you're finally coming around to seeing this eCat. Time for the Calipari era to end.

I still want him as coach

But we can't have another year like this - its not the bad team - that is going to happen, but the bigger issue is he doesn't have a plan for the future.

Auburn beating Kentucky in basketball is a sure sign of the apocalypse. I may have to start building an ark.
