Realistic options that I like are generally considered "terrible" by our fans, who love coaches they've never even seen coach a game, or pipe dreams.

I would hire Les Miles or Mike Leach in a heartbeat. Most people are acting like its going to be Jimbo Fisher, which would be really surprising and amazing, but I'd be shocked if that happens. There are also idiots arguing that the game has passed Fisher by, which is the current internet comedy I'm watching. One guy (with a letterman tag on texags, so presumably an actual former player) tried to say that Fisher won with Bowden's players.

I think Miles would do a helluva job. And I'm a big Leach fan. I like those possibilities.

Fisher has the ex-wife and ill son thing that may tie him to the state of Florida even if wants to go to TAMU. Leach with TAMU's facilities and talent would be scary.

Leach wanted the job at Kentucky, but the UKAA morons decided on Mark Stoops. Just another reason why I hate UK football.

I'm guessing everyone will be talking about Alabama on Monday, but not the football team. I don't think I have ever heard of a team only ending up with 3 players on the floor

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket ... ed-scuffle

the most amazing thing? They knocked a 16 point lead down to 3.

Part of this deal (supposedly) seems to be the ex-wife and kids also moving to Houston, where apparently they go anyway for some of his son's treatments.

This is the least I've been excited about UK basketball in some time, but I will say Diallo is a Dominique Wilkensesque dunker. Kid has hops.

Calipari was a guest on a pod cast recently and was asked about a specific recruit - Trae Young. This was a kid that was one of our must haves at one point.

Cal said he met with the parents and the father told him he wanted his son to get x-amount of shots which was more than any UK player gets under Cal's system. The net result was Cal told him that maybe going to Kentucky wasn't his best option with those goals.

So the kid ended up at Oklahoma? and dropped like 40 points on whoever they played last.

I'm not saying he should have taken the kid because no one wants a team cancer or ball hog when you have a talented squad but I think Cal is a changed man with a national championship under his belt at UK. He wants good kids but his tolerance to bullshit is much lower. Tubby went thru that to the extent that he wasn't going to kill himself to convince a kid to come to UK. He'd get a 3 star and hope to coach them up to be a 5 star quality by their junior or senior year. Cal still has the luxury of recruiting good kids - good being they won't punch a police horse or get caught with an 8 ball and they are great players , but he's at a point where the stars all have to align for him to be in a serious national title hunt. Its not a given every 4 out of 5 years now. I think you'll see a gap where we'll have maybe 1 final four in the next 3 years with Cal, and then he's going to announce he is leaving UK to much fanfare but not exactly going out on top like I think he envisioned at one time.

I think only Knox will go this year. Maybe Diallo but while he is a human highlight reel he is wildly inconsistent.

I think we lose 2 at the most. But our 2 point guards and front court aside from Knox are going to come back.

We were a player for Zion and anybody else we've been missing on the past 5 or 6 years as soon as the NCAA folded it's case against us. Also, Zion is good friends with Nassir Little, so that helps...
