We have broken the longest streak of sub freezing temps. The temp hasn’t been above freezing since 1:35am 12/31.

It’s going to be 70 Friday. Fucking crazy....

Every day last week under 32 deg. A lot of single digits.

Played golf Wednesday - sunny 68. Going back to below freezing the next 7 days. If people around here don't already have the flu, they're gonna come down with a cold.

We almost could have been on a train that ran over and killed some pregnant lady at the platform in Slough. That would have been something to remember.

One of the MIF's acquaintances went on some semi-private cruise down there said it was OK, so we checked it out. Turns out there's great diving there (hammerhead sharks being the big draw) and the price wasn't exorbitant, so we went. It was pretty cool. On the way back we stopped over in Quito (capital of Ecuador), I had never really even heard anything about it, but it's pretty cool. Sits at about 6000 ft. above sea level and they had a gondola that took you up even higher and then we hiked up some more. I was dizzy as hell, pretty sure we were around 14K feet. Pretty good trip...

They say no one can hear you scream underwater and it must be true, b/c there was a fambly of Danes diving with us and the father's name was something like Hessan or Hesse, I was never sure, but one time he swam near me while we were diving and I started screaming "HESS-EH!! Ah HESS-EH!!" like Cleavon Little in Blazing Saddles when he was yelping "Hep meh! Hep meh!!!" Evidently he didn't hear me b/c he just kept swimming placidly by...

The Chinese American guy, I'm not sure if his name was Gordon but that's what we called him and he didn't seem to mind. Anyway, he had a love/hate relationship with the local dive master, Oscar. Gordon was overzealous on taking pictures, he would swim too close to the animals and Oscar would motion furiously for him to come back. When they got back on the boat, Oscar scolded him and said he needed to stay near him from now on and Gordon said "Like Cheech and Chong." Even Oscar's scowl broke into a smile at that and the MIF, referring to Gordan, whispered to me "he's like a pet, you can't stay mad at him"...
