I heard an NPR story on them and how they want to be an instrument of change for the prescription drug crisis.... now that they have more money than 4 generations of 'em can spend.

Harvard, here she comes....
That's briliant. My ancestry.com says I'm 5% African. My youngest is a high school junior, and some of that must have passed on to him. That would certainly enhance his apps.

You hated narcotics. You eschewed anything that could bring ease and peace, opting instead to exacerbate your already jangled, high-strung psyche with the rocket fuel of crack. If anybody could've benefited from mainlining oxycontin, it was you. But you eschewed it. You eschewed it, main!

Go to the corner of Leslie and Slaughter in Goldsboro. You need to hurry though. Even black folks are scared to go there at night.

I cared not of personal danger when I was on those wee hour missions to get more, more, more. Verily! The Moor that dare attempt to keep me from my rounds would soon be gashed in the gutter, gnawed by my own teeth down to his very gristle.

so my daughter is flying out to a school this morning to a potentially huge interview with the Dean of Science and various professors to see if she is granted an opportunity to be on a research project.

The school is flying her down at their expense, yada yada yada

we get up at 4am to take her to the airport and in the car I told her that she would probably have to duck into the a bathroom and change. Her reply was "this is what I'm wearing" - for a reception where she is going to meet the Dean of Science.

What is she wearing? daisy dukes.

So after my meltdown in the car, I pull into a Wal-Mart and tell her to pick out some Khakis and a polo - and of course she is pissed at me throwing me attitude.

Its disappointing when your own kid is more redneck than you. I constantly take for granted kids at this age are more advanced than they really are, I forget that my wife nor I ever really sat down with her to talk about how to present yourself. I'm sure she understands weddings, senior night, that sort of thing but to be interviewed by a Dean? nope, doesn't even register.
