First, it wasn’t that long ago that Democrats were the ones who were concerned with the stupid and racist “common man.” You know... Roosevelt? Truman? Kennedy? Johnson? Did you ever read about them hurling insults against, or proclaiming their moral and intellectuals superiority over, “the common man”? That was also back when the Democrats were a national, majority party, and won elections outside West Coast and the Northeast.

Today, when Democrats look at their devastating nationwide losses over the past decade, at every level of government, their response is “that majority of ignorant and racist voters out there are just too ignorant and racist to appreciate the moral and intellectual superiority of us, their betters! We need to tout our moral and intellectual superiority and call them racist and ignorant even more!”

I would have thought that you supposedly “smart people” from the best schools and with advanced degrees would have figured that out the stupidity of that by now.

I guess he wasn’t supposed to own a gun.

I find it strange that after 1 day investigators know everything about the Texas shooting, but still not much on the Vegas shooting.

I read that the Air Forced screwed up in providing the information to the national database that would have prevented him from legally buying a gun.

two opposing forces are going to grow out of this shooting

the first is of course is more stringent gun laws but the second will be the relaxation of concealed carry laws.

I would like a concealed carry law that is national, not at the state level, and while I firmly agree that no where in the second amendment does it say you have to get trained to state standards before owning a gun, I see nothing wrong with teaching and mandating responsible gun ownership. If that translated to people passing a class and then being allowed to carry a weapon in public areas anywhere in the U.S., then I'd be OK with that.

Teaching responsible gun ownership will do nothing to prevent mass shootings, it may do alot to stop them once they've started. Perhaps the best way to stop a mass shooting is not to limit the access to full auto firearms but to increase the access the normal , law abiding citizen has to having them when a shooting does start.

That said, everyone owes it to themselves to go to a gun range on a pretty weekend day and see some of Americas responsible gun owners putting up silhouettes of Osama Bin Laden and then attempting to shoot them from 100 yards

I've said on here before that had Bernie won the nomination he would have been president and maybe even Biden could have pulled it off.

Trump's election was a repudiation against the Republicans and Hillary was such a horrible, horrible candidate that she made Trump a viable choice.

Bernie said things that made sense to me and to the white working class that Hillary refused to acknowledge. But his single payer system where everyone would pay $250 a month for all you can eat healthcare was fool's gold, free college education was almost that bad ; anyone who was making over $80K a year realized in Bernie's eyes they were no longer the struggling middle class and were now the 1% who were to blame for all the ills of the country. His embracing of socialism might have played well with the millennial mired deep in student loans and not being able to buy a house but it scared the shit out of everyone else who understood what it meant once you became established. He was going to put a financial chain on you with the intent you drag the impoverished with you as you climbed the ladder.

Umm..Johnson's Great Society/Civil Rights Acts sent your stupid-and-racist-common-man packing. Dixiecrats and midwestern socialcons fled in droves. Read a book.
Dems won the popular vote in 4 out of the last 5 presidential elections. No amount of gerrymandering could effect those outcomes.
I would have thought that you supposedly “smart people” from the best schools and with advanced degrees would have figured that out the stupidity of that by now.
You always rail against the educated, "professor" - it's been your go-to gripe for as long as anyone can remember. "Moral and intellectual superioriTAY!" Progressives are too smart for their own good and all that. According to you the stupid-and-racist-common-man needs dumbed-down reasoning and rhetoric in order to be swayed out of being stupid and racist. Don't call them names - that only makes 'em more entrenched. Just TEACH them...soothingly. Racism, bad. Sexism, bad. Immigrants, welcome. A woman's right to choose, wellll...racism, bad.

First of all, Tick, I congratulate you for successfully writing apost that did not mention the dying Trump-Russia collusion myth. I didn’t think you could do that anymore, but you did it. Keep up the good work.

Second, I just read a book as you suggested. And it said Johnson’s social policies helped all common men. Including steel workers in Pittsburgh, auto workers in Detroit, and coal miners in WVA. He actually LIKED people like that, and did whatever he could to help them. He never demeaned and ridiculed them daily like Democrats do today. If you wish to point out any case where Roosevelt or Truman or Johnson or Kennedy expressed contempt for working class people as being stupid and inferior, simply because they were working class, then please post examples here.

Finally, 95% of the common men are not racists, never have been, and never will be. The belief that the common man is racist is a liberal lie. One of the symptoms of the Democrats utter obsession with identity politics (only surpassed by the liberal obsession with Trump and Russia) is they have redefined the word “racist.” It used to refer to a person who thought black people are inferior to whites. Now, to liberals, that word refers to anybody who says anything that liberals don’t like.

If you want to see racism in its most blatant and unapologetic form, look at the Democrats. The DNC was hiring IT staff, and was caught saying that whites and males need not apply. Can you imagine what would happen if the RNC said, no blacks or females need apply”?

Here in Atlanta, the black mayoral candidate was sending out robocalls against the only white candidate in the field saying; “keep Atlanta black.” Can you imagine what would happen if a white mayoral candidate’s robocalls said, “keep our city white”?

But of course, that’s not racism because it was Democrats that said that, right?

Brazile has clearly pissed off the Democrats in general and the Clintons in particular. She doesn’t want to wind up like Mark Rich for good reason.

A LOT of prominent Democrats are attacking her. Every Democrat who criticizes Brazile is, by definition, a racist. SAD.

Your words, dude.

LOL I'm surprised you didn't say "believe me" at the end like your hero. 95% huh...NEVER have been?

I'd like to ask you if you were in the same position as Negroes, if you think it
would be justified or not to march and protest in demonstrations?

All in all, do you feel the demonstrations by Negroes on civil rights have helped
more or hurt more in the advancement of Negro rights?
85% Hurts Negro
15% Helps Negro

PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT VIEWS ABOUT THE NEGRO DEMONSTRATIONS. WITH WHICH VIEW DO Y
OU AGREE? SOME PEOPLE SAY THE NEGROES SHOULD STOP THEIR DEMONSTRATIONS NOW THAT
THEY HAVE MADE THEIR POINT EVEN THOUGH SOME OF THEIR DEMANDS HAVE NOT BEEN MET.
OTHERS SAY THEY HAVE TO CONTINUE DEMONSTRATING IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE BETTER JOBS,
BETTER HOUSING, AND BETTER SCHOOLING. (WITH WHICH VIEW DO YOU AGREE?)

73% NEGROES SHOULD STOP DEMONSTRATIONS
19% HAVE TO CONTINUE

Yeah yeah yeah... America is a horribly racist country, no better than Bull Conner’s Birmingham, even though we just elected a black man president twice. But keep believing this, your second favorite myth.

Tick, do you disagree with Brazile’s expose of the Clinton-DNC hacked and stolen Democrat primaries? If you do, then you are a racist.

Oh boy Oh boy, THIS IS IT! Contact with the Russians!

One Trump associate probably ate caviar, another had Russian dressing on his salad, another ate some borscht, another ate some chicken Kiev, another read a book by Tolstoy, one watched “the Nutcracker,” one dated a girl whose aunt was Russian, and several drank some Stolichnaya.

Trump is going to be impeached for sure!

If you really believe that 95% of Americans (or the entire human population for that matter) aren't racist, then you're living in a fantasy world. I do believe that things have gotten much better in recent decades, mostly thanks to liberal policies, but the entire country as well as military was segregated until relative recently, not to mention Jim Crow in the South. I do think the racism that exists today is milder than those obvious examples, but you're a fool or a liar or both if you think 95% of the country is completely non-racist. In your case, definitely "both"...

Since you probably define racist as someone who believes or says something that liberals don’t like, then by that definition 50% of Americans are racists.

Let’s try it this way: hedge and (again) Tick, do you completely support Donna Brazile (a black person) in her blowing the whistle on the DNC hacking and stealing the Democrat primaries from Bernie, OR are you a racist?

by today's definition , everyone is racist.

and because of that, it means very little.

Its been diluted to the point it no longer has shock value, when accused of it, people don't jump into a panic to decry they aren't, and many now see how the term has been abused and exploited to the point that people are protesting against racism and they don't even know why. Hell , they burn down cities and they don't even know why, or worse, their actions are based on a lie.

That's the real challenge, nowadays its
"you're a racist!"

"me? yea..probably, now go fuck yourself."

Since the election of President Donald Trump, news outlets and social media accounts have swelled with reports of swastikas at schools, racist taunts, and other hate-fueled attacks and acts of intimidation. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which has aggregated media reports and gathered submissions from its website, catalogued 1064 such incidents, 13 of which were later debunked as false reports, in the first month after Trump won the presidency. (Twenty-six of those incidents were perpetrated against Trump supporters.) The SPLC has presented that data in aggregate, creating an invaluable record of the scope of post-election hate crimes

----------------------------------------------------------

The city of Charlottesville was reeling Sunday, trying to understand how the college town was suddenly engulfed by chaos and violence as a white nationalist rally turned deadly, claiming the lives of three people

----------------------------------------------------------

When a mentally unbalanced, young, white man sits quietly in a historic, black church during a Bible study for an hour and then kills nine black parishioners in order to start a race war, it's more than just an isolated incident.

you want to talk about the cops that were killed in Dallas thanks to BLM? City blocks burned down in Ferguson and Baltimore? Riots in Charlotte and Minneapolis...

are only white people capable of starting a race war in your narrative?

and perhaps its time to examine the first sentence of your statement

"Since the election of President Donald Trump, news outlets and social media accounts have swelled with reports"

you think skinheads just developed the moment Trump was elected? That the KKK never held a rally or nobody was selling Nazi memorabilia prior to November of 2016?

the news media swelled with reports indeed. They've swelled with alot of horseshit stuff since Trump has become president.
