actually I don't think its far from the truth.

The truth is probably that Moore was such a wild card they didn't believe he'd go along with either a republican agenda or Trump's agenda unless it met his purposes, they just didn't imagine that he was such a wild card he was a borderline pedophile.

People want to say this hurts Trump but I don't see how. He didn't want Moore, his support for Strange was part of the Bannon leaving the white house dust up and he only supported Moore when it came down to him or a democrat. I can see where his initial support for Strange hurt Trump with the Trump/Moore supporters in Alabama, but even now they have to admit that Trump had a reason.

Clears the deck for 2018 and an easy win for any R not named Moore.

I think in general there will be a democrat net positive election in 2018. This usually happens in an election following a presidential election where one party, in this case, the Republicans, is overly influential

I"m not sure this will bother Trump all that much. He isn't serious about the wall and will be able to blame democrats for stopping it, his tax reform will already be in place and Obamacare is a trainwreck that the Dems can't save. What I can see is Trump "negotiating" alot of small victories that Democrats probably want (or aren't willing to fight ) like moving the Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem - the event seems larger than it is and its relatively neutral

Who's up in 2018? Richard Shelby? He's been in since 1986, I am betting Alabama voters don't have him in mind when they talk about draining the swamp and I doubt he'll have any trouble getting reelected if he runs...

So Jones will probably get reelected on the coattails of the largest democratic presidential margin in history in 2020...

2018 will be the make or break for trump

33 senate seats up 23 held by dems 10 by repubs

10 of the dems seats could easily swing blue

I wonder if anybody wants to change the way states vote for their senators and governors. Jones would've never defeated Moore if the counties in Alabama were assigned some number of electoral votes (well, maybe he would have, but just go with this). The large metro regions voted overwhelmingly for Jones while the rural, low population (aside for some minority heavy ones) voted for Moore. But according to eCat, it's not right for a concentrated populace to decide an election, b/c that's not the "real" Alabama. Right?

It is if the "rurals" choose not to show up.

Actually a concentrated population does have the ability to decide an election due to the number of delegates assigned based on population. However they just have to be in agreement with other delegates assigned to other states in order to win an election.

I believe its a very good system . A state can go all in for a candidate, like California did, but at the end of the day they are still just one state.

Would I say its bullshit if Hillary won the electorates but Trump won the popular vote? It depends, if Trump just carried a few states, then I wouldn't agree. However I would probably have heartburn if Trump had carried the majority of states including swing states.

You would have heartburn anyway from eating all that meat and salad with no bread to soak up your juices.

Why should a vote in California count less than a vote in Wyoming?

Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

I didn’t say that it should. They should be the same and they aren’t.
