We've been well educated in the anti chemo treatments. Need to find out what Hepsie means. That might be her best bet.

" You have the right attitude about this, Rat, as you said, your job now is to be her advocate and make sure he wishes are honored..."

Yep. She's to old to have her mind changed. Thy will be done.

always thought the treatment for breast was hormonal just like prostate which was much less hard on people. hope your getting your psa checked rat. also if you are convinced 6 months is tops look into hospice. usually they are excellent at giving you a break and it certainly isn't a death sentence they just keep extending if you can get her oncologist to agree that she meets the criteria. my mother inlaw was on hospice for 18 mos and those people were a godsend. good luck

I had Home Hospice for awhile for her a few years ago when I lived a few hours away. They were great and considering she told me if she doesn't die in her chair or bed in her home she will haunt me forever, I'll probably use them again.

Anyway, she's done with being poked, prodded & zapped finally after today. For at least a few days. Yesterday radiation & PET, today last radiation & a heart scan. Echo something. She's worn out. Friday we find out the whole story finally. 3 weeks of projecting takes a toll.

So when do I introduce her to weed?

I smoked some weed with my mom when she was doing chemo. She liked it...

Weed is so much healthier for you than 3 or 4 beers...

Rat how is your mom doing? Is she in that much pain?

She's the same old stubborn Nonna I've known for years. (That's what my kids call her). Has her second treatment tomorrow. Once every 3 weeks. A few more after that and they'll see where we're at. Not much really happening though. Thanks for asking.

Mom is back in the hospital. After the storms came through Friday & cut off her power she could no longer use her lift chair so she moved to the couch. Long story short, she fell @ 4:30 am trying to pee. That day we moved her to her sisters house because the inside of her house was hitting 84 with no power in the future. Next morning my Aunt couldn't get her off the couch. Called me at 6 & when I got there 911 was the only option. Anyhoo, She broke her lower back in 3 different places. Stubborn old Italian never answered yes when we asked her 100 times if she had any pain since she fell. At the Hospital the Dr. only had to ask once to get a yes. Once she got morphine she couldn't keep her eyes off the tie-dye I was wearing so I grabbed both shoulders and moved around and asked her what she saw. "Green and yellow colors moving around in peace" she said.

I wore my Gators one today Smeee. The kids have a new project tomorrow. New tie-dyes. She's gonna go to a rehab place which she needed to be in the first place. It sucks because I'm leaving in 2 Saturdays for 2 weeks with the kids to Hilton Head. I'm hoping she can stay in rehab till I at least get back in town. Either way I don't see her living without assistance anymore.

Thanks B

you should talk to them, i'm sure they can give you some sort of idea what the time frame looks like and what, if any options you have...
