If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it, then how bad of a decision can it really be?

^^^^^^^^^^^^

I thought this was an awesome idea, I still can't determine how scripted the crowd interaction is

but they obviously knew something was up with all the cameras

That was awesome. They definitely knew something was up...I'm not sure to what extent though.

By the time he was dunking, it was big time obvious. Plus, the crowd just kept getting bigger.

can't believe this is real
Shaquille O'Neal will interview with the Magic for their general manager vacancy, according to a source.

O'Neal was drafted by the Magic in 1992.

O'Neal retired following the 10-11 season.

The Magic believe the presence of O'Neal within the front office would help their chances of retaining Howard. Sources close to O'Neal and Howard contend they have a friendly relationship. O'Neal has been a confidante to Howard throughout the season as he has dealt with an uncertain future with the franchise.

It's true...but I can't imagine that he would be hired. Shaq is a lot of things...but a great basketball mind was never an attribute thrown at him.

Chad Ford:
Sources: Four-way Nets-Magic-Cavs-Clippers trade for Dwight Howard getting “close”.

Proposed Nets-Magic deal: Nets would get Dwight Howard, Jason Richardson, Chris Duhon & Earl Clark.

Magic get Brook Lopez in S&T, Luke Walton, Damian James, Sheldon Williams, Armon Johnson and 3 first round picks.

Magic picks would be: two 1st rd picks from Nets & a lottery protected 1st from the Clippers.

The Cavs get Kris Humprhries in a S&T, Quentin Richardson, Sundiata Gaines, a 1st round pick from the Nets & cash.

The Clippers would receive MarShon Brooks.

------

Its an amazingly bad deal.

3 likely lousy draft picks and the right to vastly overpay Brook Lopez?

Letting Dwight walk would be a better option…

They must be simply trying to scare Los Angeles. That's a horrible deal.

I wonder if ever in the recent history of the league one would be able to say that acquiring 1st round picks from both the Nets & Clippers would be a bad haul

Heh, that's true. There will be a regression to the mean with the Clips, I'm sure (just like it was with the Nets in the early aughts). We'll see if Brooklyn washes the stink off of the boys from Secaucus/Newark.

that deal looks comparable to the VC trade a few years ago. or the Pau Gasol trade... perhaps those low first round picks net them a Marc Gasol and it will be considered equal in a couple of years. (runs from bklyn)

Nets starting roster:

Lopez: 13.7M
Hump: ~12M
Wallace: 9.7M
Johnson: 19.8M
Williams: 17.2M

72M... They're over the luxury tax with just their starters...

Must be nice to print money...

Thank Putin, glasnost and perestroika.

Did Humphries have an offer sheet from another team?

12 large? WTF?

He's a poor man's Jason Williams...and Jason Williams was a poor man's Buck Johnson.

$12M?

Shit.

From John Hollinger:
If they’re thinking about trading for Dwight Howard after Jan. 15, when Brook Lopez is trade eligible – and most certainly, they are – then signing Humphries to a short contract of this size makes all kinds of sense. The reason is that it allows the Nets to take back much bigger contracts from Orlando in a trade. Paying Humphries $12 million means that the combination of Humphries, Tyshawn Taylor and Reggie Evans can be used to take back $18.6 million in contracts from Orlando – which conveniently, is exactly enough to swallow the contracts of Orlando veterans Glen Davis, Jason Richardson, Chris Duhon and Quentin Richardson and clean the Magic’s books going forward.

Jordan likes to gamble. He's just never been too good at it.

At least Rich Cho may have saved his ass a bit with a good draft pick, albeit a no-brainer.

That Cuban mamacita he has is good quality, though.
