I know UCLA AD Dan Guerrero is publicly supporting Rick Neuheisel, but just everybody watching the end of the first half of UCLA-Arizona had to be thinking to themselves, "This is the sort of thing you see from teams that are about to get their head coach fired."

UCLA hires...Jim Mora.

I don't think I've ever seen a hire at a major program get such an overwhelmingly negative response-- there were at least a few people willing to defend the Gene Chizik hire at Auburn. I can't find anybody that thinks this is a good move. Even the ESPN Pac-10 writers come across as if they're trying to convince themselves this might not be a total disaster. If BruinsNation is any indication, Jim Mora may become the first head coach in recent history to be so unpopular with his fan base that he gets fired before his first game.

Was at the game. Very high energy and a lot of fun. Especially since the Bruins won.

UCLA is my "darkhorse" favorite to win the College Football National Championship. They get everyone at home (Oregon, USC, and Stanford), have two very good lines, a talented QB (3rd best QB in the conference), damn good wideouts, and a coach who wins. I'll be in Nevada in a couple weeks. If I see the line in any sports book that gives me at least 15-1 odds, I'll lay $100 on it.

Great. Now Mora is gonna get canned after a 5 win season.

Well yes he would be. Expectations are high there.

As I see it, there are really only 4 or maybe 5 teams that I think have any real shot of winning this year's national championship: Florida State, Baylor, Auburn, Oregon, & UCLA. I was going to include Ohio State until I saw their situation on the offensive line, it is dicey at best (they wont run the gauntlet unbeaten.)

Yes Baylor. Did you see how good they were last year? You think that was a fluke? I do not.

By the by, you haven't fired London yet? How many 4 and 5 star recruits does he have to continue bringing in and have UVa shit the bed in the season for you guys to figure this one out?

"Yes Baylor. Did you see how good they were last year?"

yes, i saw the defense that gave up 49 to Okie State and 52 to something called 'Central Florida'

IB gives up a lot of points around here, so he probably doesn't count that sort of thing...

I'm sorry hasn't it been since (like) 1932 or something the last time Baylor beat Okie-State in Oklahoma? That Cowboys field is their nemesis. And (for the record) Central Florida was fucking good (beat Teddy Bridgewater and Louisville.)

Ummm, UCLA, after what BYU just did, you better beat that sucky Texas team by much more than your customary ONE touchdown.
