Re: Tennessee Volunteers
AA, Once and for all, let me state categorically that YOU WERE RIGHT and I WAS WRONG about Harvey Updyke having been a law enforcement officer in Texas. I did not think at the time of our previous discussion (and I do not think now) that his history as a cop in Texas (which was, in my mind, unsubsta...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Both hands firmly on the ball when it broke the plane. The photo clearly shows that. The replays clearly showed it. The broadcast crew said it was clearly a TD and acted as if a reversal was a foregone conclusion. They were surprised when it wasn't. Bobbling the ball after it's a TD doesn't matter o...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Well, the announcers seemed to think it was a no-brainer. ...but the announcers probably aren't from the ACC, like the replay officials are. The replay showed he was firmly gripping the ball in between his hands when it broke the plane. You can't blame the announcers for assuming that it would be ru...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Offense goes 4 and out on first possession, but defense does the same to NC State. Jitters look to be in effect. Second offensive possession coming up. Hope to see them settle down and play a little more under control. Good news is that CP already has his first catch.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
I've been cautiously optimistic about this game for the past few weeks. But as kickoff approaches, I'm having the kinds of doubts that our recent debacles must inevitably bring. We seem to have a lot of the pieces in place to be good -- but pieces have a way of getting scattered when the pads start ...

The rumors are flying. One of them involves an agent. I keep hoping that it's not that serious and that this is FINALLY the wake-up call that changes Da'Rick. But I'm not optimistic.

We can only hope and pray that Justin Hunter can stay healthy and that Cordarrelle Patterson lives up to the hype.
God knows Zach Rogers isn't the answer.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Dooley now saying that Rogers is not likely to return this season. On the one hand, it's a shocking loss. OTotherH, it seems like something that was destined to happen. Last year we lose our most heralded defensive player right before the start of the season. This year, it's our most heralded offens...
