Re: Florida State Seminoles

Well it is the 21st century after all. Much of the rest of the world deposed or quietly dismissed their kings and queens long ago. Let's get on the right side of this, take our lumps and build smaller cars.

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread

If all you're going to do is offer political platitudes and conservative talking points, damn right I'm going to dismiss them. I've repeatedly asked for specific proposals to deal with the current situation and in return I get speeches about business confidence and reprints of economic lessons from ...

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread

The idea that government spending creates jobs makes sense only if you never ask where the government got the money. It didn’t fall from the sky. The only way Congress can inject spending into the economy is by first taxing or borrowing it out of the economy. No new demand is created; it’s a zero-s...

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread

Please explain, in detail, how you suppose that we're going to get out of this mess? I'd like to see what your prescription is for ending the great recession because cutting government spending will only put more people out of work and cutting taxes is only going to put us deeper into debt. Since t...

I'm not sure what all of it means in the big picture but it can't be good for the U.S., Saudi Arabia or China.
It could be if we used such news to start doing something about our dependence on oil.

I'd be willing to bet that the people on this forum, making such a journey and having to include either you or me, wouldn't chose you.

But that's just a guess.

Are people sick?

Ever wonder why you're willing to trade slobber with someone you're attracted to, but disgusted at the idea of drinking a coke someone spit in?

Re: Baseball

Johnson was a freak of nature; if he had learned to pitch five years sooner, he didn't reach the big leagues until 25, he might have won 400 games.

No. But I'm not married. Generally speaking, women don't compete with each other over how their husbands look, but rather over their husbands' status. Women certainly do advertise their mates status: "I'm Mrs Dr. Alan Green." Or, "Well, my boyfriend is an investment banker . . ."...

Wouldn't that be special. Seriously, I doubt these guys actually loot much. It's a court marshal offense, and the Afghans are so poor, what do they have that a GI would want to steal? What struck me as odd was those guys each needed 4 bags? That seems like a lot of bags for a bunch of dog face GIs. ...

Re: Baseball

I saw Greg pitch twice at old Busch, once when he was with the Cubs and once when he was with the Braves. As you might guess, I was not particular happy with the results of either game. Maddux was the best pitcher I ever saw. He didn't throw 95 mph, but he could flat out pitch. I doubt there will ev...
